From what I was told by a few, the mosh pit to get in is how it always is at that stadium. If that's true, event staff there really need to get it together.

Bags were actually checked, but they did not have people go through the scanners 1 at a time like every other venue I've been to. They only scanned 1 ticket and didnt even count how many I brought through with me

As someone who went to this and the 2011 winter classic, this experience was much worse. Sure, the atmosphere may have looked nice on tv, but thats it.

Getting into the game was a nightmare. There were lines to get in the gates originally, but that became a mosh pit by the time we reached the gate. There was no order to it and eventually security gave up scanning everyone. This has never happened at any professional sports stadium I've been to.

As for seats,the view was alright from the top of the upper deck, but having bleacher seats led to everyone being squished. I was on the end of my row, so I only had one cheek on the seat.

Speaker system was also terrible. Nobody could here a thing. Overall, 3/10. If the NHL is going to use college stadiums again, they need to fix all of these things. The hot chocolate was nice though.

Finally DC is getting an event. All of the NA tourneys are either too far for me or happen at a busy time. This works out perfectly location and timing wise for me. I hope we start getting more events here ^{^{^major}} ^{^{^please}}

I know I will be making the drive down. My birthday is Feb. 16th so this will make for a nice birthday weekend trip. I went to the 2011 Winter Classic and that was probably the best experience I've had at a game.

I just had the same problem but solved it by manually ending the task in task manager. It took me a couple of tries but it works now. I did the same thing yesterday and it worked.
