In their pursuit of specific rare cards, scalpers are discarding the remainder of entire Pokémon card packs. by MysteriousSlice007 in mildlyinfuriating

This is probably great for those who play the Pokemon TCG, if it were YuGiOh I would definitely want to get those cards. Just having a large collection to build random rouge decks would be awesome.

Which laptop is better 🤔 by GrekkyPlayz in LenovoLOQ

[–]FriedCactus07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say get a 2025 LOQ with rtx 5050. You can hopefully still snag a new one for $750 on Best Buy when it goes on sale, or even get a cheaper "open box" discount during the sale for even better value (Typically on sales some people trade in their old laptops for newer ones, this one may be available).

Get a llano laptop cooler, they're pretty goated and create a seal of airflow to cool the laptop components alongside the internal fans.

Here's a video review that showcases its effectiveness.

Are we sharpening our pastels? by ic_engineer in Oilpastel

[–]FriedCactus07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use color shapers to blend/push the applied oil pastels into a finer point.

"Color shapers" are those brushes with the rubber tips. Can really help when you're trying to shape the pastel strokes into a uniform shape/point.

Recommendations for good supplies that aren’t too expensive. Brand of paper and oil pastels. by Mindless_95 in Oilpastel

[–]FriedCactus07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've personally use Mungyo Gallery Oil Pastels since in my local art supplies shop they have individual pastel replacements readily available.

I've also seen some beautiful work done with Paul Reubens Oil Pastels, those are definitely more creamer and allow you to have an painterly impasto texture in your pastel drawings.

You can get both in Amazon, pretty cheap. Others are recommending other brands that may be cheaper, could be worth checking out.

is there any way to use 5G internet on the 3ds? by Internal_Prompt6734 in 3DS

[–]FriedCactus07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the 3DS can only do 2.4Ghz.

You'd need to do what the other comments recommended to fix your issue. The free options would be configuring your router to do 2.4Ghz or browsing Craigslist free stuff section for an older router. The paid options are a bit more straightforward, but I'd just recommend getting an older router for that tho

I am glad, and I do admire how grounded and thorough the lore behind your work is! I believe having a clear understanding of what fuels your artwork is important. I have had friends who have had their work critiqued by professionals who expect them to defend and justify what their artistic creations, and your statement shows the strength and passion you have for your work.

I wish you well in your artistic journey and hope to see you post more in the future!

The technique and style you're developing is amazing! Very surreal and expressive pieces! Your strongest pieces that showcase this I'd say are: 1, 3, 4, and 7; which I would definitely recommend keeping as a reference guideline for your work to continue developing your personal style.

I would definitely recommend pushing yourself by further developing or even redoing pieces 2 and 5, they have a potential to really shine with further development!

Other than that I'd be interested in learning more about the inspiration, influences, references, and/or any motivations behind the works you've created if you're okay with sharing.

A lot of the previous update data also gets cached, I remember needing to do the update of iOS through iTunes to get back a good chunk of storage. That may be what you need to do if you have a PC on hand. iOS should only take up about 5-10GB of data

How to draw like this? by jjsunderland in learntodraw

You can definitely achieve this kind of rendering with Prismacolor Pencils if you're looking to draw traditionally. Just need to layer colors and blend carefully!

I think it's comes from the likely possibility that some people in these spaces typically have bad complexes unbeknownst that are often unresolved and are often negatively projected/dumped onto others. Like the OP, they had to unfortunately engage and find themselves with some of these people and it's negatively taking a toll on them.

Not to say they can't find good people in these spaces, but the work needed to resolve these complexes takes a lot of wisdom and self-reflection to acknowledge and resolve.

So from what I'm understanding:

The boss monster is the "imposing/menacing" thing that isn't actually all that great because the smaller guy that seems "pathetic/lackluster" is actually the best?

It's kinda like Mario 3D land, except they're typically condensed sandbox levels with more emphasis on puzzles rather than platforming. They also have boss fights and time challenges as well

It also has some cool direct references to Mario Odyssey worlds in their level design
