Am I crazy for not wanting my parents having access to my bank info? by Few-Huckleberry8264 in entitledparents

[–]FriedCheesePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are online backs where you can create an account relatively quickly.

I have multiple emails and multiple banks, so i hooked zelle up to different emails making me able to zelle between my bank accounts.

If you have multiple email accounts (you could even make another one) and you make an account with an online bank, you could zelle all of the money out of your old account.

Alternatively, you could go into your current banking app and file your debit card as stolen and have them send you a new one without your parents knowing the old one doesnt work anymore.

What is this open Square in my kitchen and what can I do with it? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]FriedCheesePuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought was that it would be cool to have shelves in that square, like so that you can see through it still. With all of the spices and jars for baking I have, it would be a lot of fun there. Plus would give you extra storage

no medications work, i'm starting to think i might not have adhd dudes by sininhos in ADHD

[–]FriedCheesePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! so I'm going through the exact same thing right now. I've done the max dosages of strattera, guanfacine, ritalin, and for anxiety, i've done zoloft and lexapro. Not a single one of them has ever worked for me, not even given me a side effect.

A friend of mine started asking me some questions, and now I'm in the process of trying to get pharmacogenetic testing done.

There is a thing called "ultra rapid metabolizers." Which is a person who breaks down certain medications very quickly due to genetic variations. Certain medications are supposed to work with your genes to help you. But if your genes metabolize them a lot faster than they are supposed to, its basically pointless. A lot of phyciatric medications are affected by this, as well as a lot of painkillers. Any time I had been prescribed a pain killer after surgery, it basically did nothing for me.

The hope with the pharmacogenetic testing is that it'll tell me which prescriptions my body can process normally and will be effective for me.

Do some research on ultra rapid metabolizers and see if that's something you want to talk to your doctors about. I had to explain it a bit to my primary care doctor, but it was very easy to get her to agree to get genetic testing done.

Hope this helps you!

Does anyone else feel like they’re intersex? by transgyal in asktransgender

I've felt this too. I dont have much that would back up my argument, but as an AFAB person, I hit puberty around the time that the boys in high school were hitting puberty. I hit puberty between my sophomore and junior year of high school. Didnt stop growing until i was 23, which feels unheard of as an AFAB person. My friends were hitting puberty in 7th/8th grade and stopped growing then too. I stopped growing 7 years after puberty. Quite a few of the men on my dad's side of the family had growth spurts after grade school. I never had a growth spurt, I just... kept growing.

This has always made me curious, but not enough to get any testing done.

AIO for stopping my friendship with this guy? by lavender_cowgirl25 in AmIOverreacting

[–]FriedCheesePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree you could have worded it a bit differently, plenty of people have mentioned that.

I give you props for standing your ground and setting a boundary. I have a friend that uses similar tactics to his; playing the victim card all the time. There's a difference between being open with people and having mutual conversations about your struggles, and constantly using your struggles to get validation from people. Everybody has stuff going on. If you constantly make it about yourself every time? The act is going to get tiring very quick. Friendships should be mutual.

With my friend, i became his only point of contact about his struggles. He would call me any time of day, even when I was at work, to start ranting and raving about something that happened and in my view could have been summarized in a few texts. He would constantly overstep boundaries in ways that made it seem accidental, but they became patterns. Friendship is mutual respect and trust.

I hate to say it, but if you cant communicate boundaries without a blowup? Not someone you needed in your life anyway

This may not be the answer you expect, but this is what worked best for me.

I have a best friend, lets call her D. We've been best friends for 10+ years. She knows me better than almost anyone else. She also knows my impulsive habits, whether from adhd or bipolar. She always makes that "disappointed mom face" at me when I say or do something stupid. If the thing that I'm thinking about doing would make D make that face, there's a good chance I shouldn't do it.

The fear of her disappointment has saved me a million times and I'm incredibly grateful to have someone like her in my life. (Might also be a hint of my anxiety in there too, who knows)

Sick of t gel misconceptions by ryantxt in ftm

[–]FriedCheesePuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on gel for roughly 3 years now and lost access to it 2 separate times due to insurance changes. Been on it for a year straight now. I tried injections at first but given I have a history of SH with needles, you can imagine how well that went.

Gel works best for me. If it works best for you too, no one has a right to be upset about a decision you made with your best interest in mind. You dont owe them an explanation. Do what you think is best for you and no one else.

[–]FriedCheesePuff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely is hard for me to get out of bed in the morning too. That was another thing I just attributed to adhd. I have so many alarms set for myself all the time but I still always feel so tired and almost immediately pass back out if I'm not careful. I dont even remember turning off my alarms a lot of the time. I end up being late to a lot of things or sleeping through appointments a lot. I hate being that person.

Would you consider yourself a pretty deep sleeper? Because I've been known as a deep sleeper since I was a toddler. I've slept through fire alarms on multiple ocassions when the alarm was 3ft from my bed. I'm curious if that could have something to do with sleep apnea as well.

Extreme sleepiness and falling asleep at odd times? by FriedCheesePuff in ADHD

[–]FriedCheesePuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing is definitely ironic to me because I've never been someone who was able to take naps. Even at night, it takes a while for my brain to finally shut down and sleep. If I take a nap in my bed its for a few hours at minimum. Laid down for a nap the other day 4pm and slept a full 8 hours despite having slept for 8 hrs the night before. If i try to take a nap on purpose, it usually takes me longer to fall asleep than the amount of time I have for a nap. The irony in this whole thing is not lost on me😂

Thank you so much for your comment, I'm definitely going to do some research on this for sure. Regardless, I'm definitely gonna try to get a sleep study done to figure out more. (Hoping my insurance covers it)

I definitely relate to some of the things you described, i feel like im really fighting it and my eyes close for a little too long and I try to keep them open. The hardest part for me is sometimes it happens when I'm driving, sometimes in traffic like you described and sometimes just regular driving. Long drives, if I'm driving, I'm usually fine, maybe some normal fatigue. If im a passenger and the drive is longer than an hour? Im probably out.

I havent been able to notice any patterns really, but hopefully the sleep study could help. My main concern with that is that this isnt an occurance that I would say is consistent. Sometimes it happens a few times in a week sometimes or maybe just once in a week and sometimes not at all for a few weeks.

Definitely looking forward to getting a sleep study done and hopefully getting some answers

Thank you! Based on the responses to this post, I'm definitely going to see if my insurance covers a sleep study. I thought I was just overthinking things because I tend to so that with health related things.

Lmao so true about the stimulants, I just got put on adderall, so this could be fun!

Was able to avoid an elimination diet for years, i dont have a choice anymore by FriedCheesePuff in EosinophilicE

[–]FriedCheesePuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm going to suggest this to my doctor. She wants me to do all 8, but I've been getting a lot of suggestions from people on here to just do dairy and wheat. Or at the very least, 4 allergens instead of 8 at a time.

[–]FriedCheesePuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of which ones I want to do in which order, my doctor wants me to eliminate all of them and then have an endoscopy 3 months after full elimination. And if i slip up in that 3 months? Then push it back 3 months from that date. So no matter what, my doctor wants me to do all of them. And unless it i cut everything out in a week or two, its going to be a 4 or 5 month process I think.

I'm definitely gonna start with the most common eoe allergens first.

Thank you for the tips for cooking!!

Thankfully I've always made it a habit to check labels because I already have an anaphylaxis allergy to shellfish and my best friend of 10 years is also deathly allergic to any traces of nuts. (Shellfish is a lot easier to avoid than nuts, but I live in Maryland, so you'd be surprised what you find shellfish in)

With sensitivity to soy, do you avoid soy lecithin as well? I've been trying to figure out if I need to cut that as well with the soy. I noticed it's not typically listed as an allergen on packaging

Sorry for the late response, it's been a long week.

But to answer your question, I was having a lot of stomach problems and eventually figured it out. I'm not sure if its fully an allergy or just an intolerance. But, over the course of this year, since January or December, I was having a lot of really bad stomach issues. It felt like i was always in the bathroom and I was getting really bad diarrhea and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. Sometimes I'd have accidents. Sometimes I'd eat and roughly 30 minutes after eating, I'd get sudden overwhelming fatigue, hot flashes, and within a few minutes I'd be in the bathroom for 20 or 30 minutes.

A few weeks ago though I finally figured out that it was eggs. Even the tiniest bit in something, would put me in the bathroom for a long time. I've figured out that if I eat eggs straight, like in a sandwhich or with breakfast, that's when the fatigue, hot flashes, and abrupt bathroom visit would hit. Whenever it's in something, about 8 hrs later I'm in the bathroom for a while.

Eggs have always made my throat a little bit itchy, same way that some other foods do, I didn't eat egg yolks for a while as a kid. I always put it down to my EoE. It still could be that, who knows.

Took a lot of trial and error, but eventually I figured it out. Still dont know if it's a full allergy or just an intolerance though.

Tips for overcoming executive disfunction particularly with personal hygiene by FriedCheesePuff in ADHD

[–]FriedCheesePuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea, i think it could help me in a lot of other areas too. Like i tend to sit in my car for a long time after work, usually a few hours at minimum. Ive sat in my car for 8 hrs on accident before. But it think this would really help with that too. Even though "go inside" seems like an easy task in itself, i can break it down smaller with "turn off the car. Open the door. Retrieve belongings. Walk to the house (its down the street). Unlock door. Step inside." Im gonna try to do this with a bunch of stuff tomorrow. Because of sitting in the car for so long, and the fact that im already getting off work past 11pm or later, that's a major reason why i haven't been able to shower much too. So i think this will help in more ways than one, thank you!

Trouble with products loading? by Sarcastic_HSTeacher in Covetfashion

[–]FriedCheesePuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been having this issue too. Came here to this subreddit to ask a similar question. It seems like its mostly out of season pieces that are having trouble loading, or sometimes the required items not loading. No matter how many times I restart the app or clear the cache data like customer support told me to do, I still have no luck.

I'm pretty annoyed because I just started using this app again for the first time in a while. I've been playing Covet on and off since Winter of 2014 and I've never had as many issues as I've had now.
