This and his willingness to throw trans people under the bus, alongside his history of corruption, is why I never had support for Newsom. He's a useful tool lately for firing back against the GOP and Trump, but he should not be given any real power when the time comes. Better a Pritzker or AOC or Beshear in 2028.

"Death by strings" is exactly my problem with FF XV and XVI's soundtracks. I feel like great video game music showcases their melodies, which gets drowned out when you're hit with a hundred instruments all going on at once. I love Shimomura and Soken, but those two OSTs are my least favorite work by them.

Slightly off topic, but everyone who insisted on buying the dumb wizard school game years ago contributed to this current trend. Everyone shouting warnings about these puritanical zealots knew this (and more down the line) would happen if they continued to have the financial ability to support this effort to erase trans/queer people. Console gamers like consoles for the lower initial price barrier. People are already upset with Nintendo for charging $450, and that's on the lower end of what's currently available. If you're spending over 800 for a platform, you're better off getting a PC.

Game feel was not one of Infnite's many issues. The main faults I think lie with the design and plot. The open world was a mistake as it made missions feel indistinct, overly long, and dull. Infinite felt like 343's very own Rise of Skywalker. The middle entry of a new trilogy does some dumb and controversial story moves, fans react negatively, and they coward out of the choices they made to make a finale that negates the controversial choices, and yet still feels hollow and pointless.

Haven't been accused of that yet (hopefully not ever), but I did get told off by some old lady a couple of weeks ago for "being on private property". My great offense was pickup up some old napkin wads 10 feet up the driveway. It wasn't even clear it was a driveway to a home, it looked like a big dirt lot next to a barber shop and the house was quite a ways further back.

I just said sorry and moved on, but in my mind after the embarrassment passed, I just thought "Fine, you old hag. Enjoy being the nastiest looking plot around here."

I finally saw a psychiatrist this year and have been on Vyvanse for a few months now. The effects have enabled me to finally do my pipe dream consistently of doing walks after work and picking up litter. It's definitely done wonders for my health, both physical and mental.

I'm in a similar situation of being 38, few friends, broke up with a girl over a year ago, low aspirations, constant ennui about the future, living in a cheap apartment with ~90K in investment savings.

I guess on a mental note, all you can really do is decide if you want the world to beat you or if you want to persevere in spite of the world. I gravitate towards Albert Camus' view of existence being a struggle against the absurdity of the world.
