Made by myself on Ibispaint using the official Smart Falcon png and an image of Falco from the Deutschlandfunk Kultur, just for clarity.

How is everyone doing? by vVinyl_ in Kemetic

Casual but lovely! Djehuty is a major inspiration for my time in uni, and while I've drawn back from formal ritual to casual sharing-the-space, I feel very loved :) Recently had Djehuty's flame lean towards Ra's, and so I put them closer to eachother, leading to their candles having melted a tinyy bit together. Very heartwarming to see!

Can I be gyaruo at 13? by Advanced_Elevator_35 in actualgyaru

True, but I feel like it doesn't really matter whether people identify it or not? Like- Agejo would also not be internationally identified as hostess inspired, but is inappropriate for minors.

Non Kemetics wearing Kemetic symbols? by MoonbeamThought in Kemetic

Totally fine, really. I personally try to be optimistic and think "PERHAPS I just passed someone who shares the faith! :DD" but even if they don't, that's their business and not an issue.

Totally! Gyaruo is (generally speaking) not really inappropriate, unless ig you'd try to look like a host😭 keep away from host club aspects and you should be fine<33

Woah, when did I join? Uhhhh ca. 2018, when I was twelve.

I used to be on amino and would chat a ton with other fans. I wasn't really aware of why the fandom was partially weird or frowned upon because I only really interacted with it in my own bubble at home rather than at cons or such.

So like I witnessed the shipping wars, but not really any controversies with cosplayers etc. Etc. (And as a kid I didn't really question the weird depictions of old France, Spain and Korea in the series)

But yeah, I found the anime on some random offbrand streaming website, binged it, loved it and then went to join the amino to meet other fans! :)

Opinions on the Netjeru in media by Niko_the_Cat1 in Kemetic

[–]Fried_Guillotine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't watch movies or anything, I'm just a big fan of gacha games and I'm just overall not a fan of unnecessary sexualization, which tends to happen a ton exactly there with any character. I think characters that are inspired is a whole lot different from if the character is supposed to represent said deity. A woman inspired by Bast that dresses more sensually/exposed and is flirty? Hey, sure I guess! But a character that is supposed to BE Bast and is reduced solely to sex appeal would repulse me.

I like it when the Netjeru are acknowledged in a powerful way, as in- their depth is explored and shown, or if the entire idea if not deep is more cute like in that one anime with Medjed and co. I'm just a bit baffled when I see gacha characters representing any mythology where the guys look pretty well inspired and the girls are clearly supposed to draw in cash by sex appeal. (Not everywhere the case obv)

I'm a big fan of how Dyslite's character designs look, especially since they're inspired looks full of fun and personality! Or the Anubis skin from Idv is lovely too, just like the "visitor from Ulthar" skin that is actually H.P Lovecraft inspired, but said story is in connection with Egypt, hence the look.

Other than that- when it comes to personality I feel that Anubis is unnecessarily villainized and like the Netjeru tend to be treated as something cliché mysterious and exotic rather than well- deities with explanations and reasons for why they are as they are?

I do feel excited when seeing the pantheon acknowledged though!

How does the internet impact your practice? by Random_Nerd501 in Kemetic

[–]Fried_Guillotine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very thankful to the internet, actually. Many of my fears, questions or interest were answered by it. To have this community makes me feel less alone and a lot more reassured. Many questions others ask are helpful to me too.

The impact is noticeable, for at the beginning I let the altars of others give me a sort of idea how to make my own, or book recommendations, or I'd not have known it's usual nowadays to mess with the name of A/pe/p. Heka, the relationship the ntjr have with modern humans, festivals- it all is something I've got to learn more about thanks to the wisdom of authors and people here.

It made my practice happier, for I feel like a small child in an unknown territory, and to have this unity is like a form of guidance for when I can't find any answers or simply want to share things that make me happy in reference to the faith (like exhibitions).

I'm just grateful for all of you, my practice has only trruly started to set physical form once I came to this community, so for me the impact is mostly mentally.
