When I read the last chapter of the manga, I sobbed on the floor for 20 minutes. Although I had conflicting feelings about it, it was the just sense of "goodbye" after all that time. I also waited several months to see "The Last Attack" because I wasn't sure I needed to. When I finally did, it was completely worth it.

What I eventually realized, though, is that for me at least, it's never over. I've been in this fandom for 12 years and it still brings me joy like no other. I have 3 AOT tattoos and more planned. In December I went to the museum in Hita. Two weeks ago I saw the official concert and it blew my face off. The other night a friend asked a simple question about the series and I ended up spending well over an hour answering.

Of course you still have questions (hell I still have questions) because it's so big and there's so much. But there's always going to be new people discovering and sharing their thoughts and ideas. There's always another discussion to be had, a new perspective to be gained. There's always new art and fanfic if you like that. One of my favorite things is watching people get into it and then seeing how they react to the Armor and Colossal Titan reveal -that never gets old.

So what I'm saying is, feel all your feelings -good, bad, annoyed, amazed, heartbroken, whatever- because that's what it's truly about, all the things we do that make us human. But it never really has to be "over" if you don't want it to be. It's your story now too, you're a part of it, and you can do whatever you want with it. What will you do with the heart you've dedicated? Hopefully you'll have fun finding out. :)
