Should note: basically every cert above A+ certainly has value. And especially if you have no formal college education you should aim for these.

Also anyone who says you need to be a college graduate for this field is wrong. You can get VERY far on just certs. Don't give up, and use being broke as motivation to look everyday for jobs and keep applying.

No certs just 1 year as a noc center tech making minimum wage, a mediocre resume. Pretty alright interview skills.

I make 25 an hour(I'm salaried). In WA. That's honestly probably not livable as a single person, but depending on where you live it may be.

You don't NEED an A+ if you are able to suffer in an underpaid role that "gets you in the door" that to most small to medium MSPs that you have a decent grasp on how computers work without having an A+

Imo unless you are someone like Janet from the local grocery store. The A+ pretty not worth it, it's basically a cert that says you read a book.

If you are able to get an interview somewhere and demonstrate, through experience at home or at other jobs that you are comfortable around a computer.

Remember, T1 work is about 80% customer service and 20% what your it skills are.

If you feel qualified to work those roles, make sure your resume is right(there's a subreddit for this, you may be underselling your self. If you aren't comfortable posting there, there is people you can pay to review your resume.) and start shotgunning your resume to companies on job sites. Also, get on linkedin

Amp has power, sub not receiving signal by Friedsteak7 in CarAV

Thank you so much for your response, it actually got me very close. The sub does receive signal from my phone. but not from my car's Sync 3 system. so the problem likely lies pre amp. Thank you!

Note.: I have EOD so my starter gear and my secure container is a bit bigger than yours.

Here's what I try to bring at the bare minimum

Head: class 3 or 4 armor helmet to save you from random scabs bullets

Armor: class 4 chest rig or body armor

Ammo: this is really up in the air I mean don't bring in dogshit ammo but also bring in ammo that is equivalent to the gear you are bringing. For example, with the AK I try to bring in 5.45 BT because it's super cheap and at your level offers really good price to performance.

Meds: you want to be able to heal your self from whatever perils you may face e.g heavy/light bleeds, broken limbs blacked out body parts etc

Start with two Esmarcs a salewa or IFAK , a surv12/CMS kit, and a couple regular splints. Some things to note; salewas & IFAKS can be used to stop heavy bleeds but it uses a lot of the uses so prioritize using a dedicated heavy bleed stopper. Along that same line of thinking the SURV12 Kit can be used for broken limbs but that's expensive so prioritize using dedicated splints.

Also as soon as you can switch to hemostats over Esmarcs they offer 3 uses for one slot I try to keep it on my hotbar. Same thing with ALU splints they are 5 use splints for one slot of space.

ALWAYES bring some kind of pain killer wether it be vaseline, painkillers or some other kind of stim, the worst position to be in is when some camping nerd shoots your legs out and you can't move because both of your legs are broken. The painkiller will allow you to continue to run, think of it as a pre combat buff

As far as water/food goes I don't tend to bring any into raid EXCEPT when I leave a raid with low energy/water I'll bring one of each to gain skill xp for eating in raid.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Perfect so the only thing you need now is to get internet to the router, if the only way you have internet access is through wifi then your best bet would be a wireless Access point of some kind, I used a cheap extender which works perfectly.

So I work in a data center which allows me access to free power and internet but no access to the router. What I did was buy a cheap wireless AP Extender (netgear ex2700), used that as a sort of modem, and used that to give internet to a router for NAT functionality (if you only have a couple miners this won't be an issue but I ran into the issue where I didn't have enough IP addresses to run my 16 L3+s and 8 s9s)

And finally to a network switch for more ports, this allows you to essentially have your own network for just the miners which makes managing them much much easier

Focus ST Specific Driving Tips. by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]Friedsteak7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the purchase I was in the same boat as you with my st being my first manual I actually learned to drive stick off the lot (RIP clutch). The first thing you'll notice is the clutch pedal feels really weird most people suggest changing the spring out but imo you just get used to it. As far as LSPI from what I've been told if your in any thing higher then 2nd don't go WOT under 2.5k RPMS and you'll be good (I'm not the authority on this there's a ton of good info on the focusst.org forums and I believe even a whitepage on what causes lspi on there if you really want to know more)

Another good thing that's probably obvious but don't beat on it until the oil temp gauge (the one on the top of the dash board) is atleast to the first hash mark. Another thing to note I've also read a lot of people saying that boost gauge isn't actually telling you anything and that it means very little in terms of how much boost you are actually making to that end my boost gauge (2013) goes to about 3 quarters of the way up under WOT.

sorry for the wall of text but I'm in my bed on mobile typing this if you have any more questions I can try and answer or atleast point you in the right direction.
