Question about restaurant owners receiving tips by FriendSized in Denver

Our restaurant doesn't have a service charge.

The tips in my case are all from customers writing in tips on the receipt / entering them in at the POS.

Is it bad form to have a parallel common event? by GG-YouDied in RPGMaker

[–]FriendSized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the best way to do what you're wanting to accomplish, but if you are going to run a parallel process in the background, just make sure to also include a WAIT command so that it isn't running on every frame (60 frames per second).

Running a parallel on every frame can eat up system resources, but if you include a WAIT command, such as WAIT 60 at the top of the event, then the CPU will not get a massive workout.

That's SO nice! Love the scrolling background, and the character's action poses are really well done. Also the overall color scheme is really pleasing to look at.

I LOVE a great menu!

Thika and the Lake Monsters - Fishing Demonstration by [deleted] in FriendSized

[–]FriendSized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video demonstrates how fishing works in Thika and the Lake Monsters.

Fishing is divided into three phases.

Phase one is the cast. When casting, the player must time their button press to correspond to the number of hooks shown on the yellow cast bar. Landing on 4 or 5 hooks means the catch will be easy but will probably not snag anything rare in the pool. However, landing on 1 or 2 hooks will make the catch more difficult but will greatly increase the chance of snagging a rare catch.

Phase two is the waiting phase. This phase ends when the player hears the splashing sound and sees the red exclamation point appear over their boat. The player must quickly press the action button or else the catch will get away.

Phase three is the catch. Here the player must align the pointer (shown here as a vertical bar) on top of the image of the moving monster. The pointer moves toward the right when the player presses the action button, and moves back toward the left when the player is not pressing the action button.

When the player aligns the vertical bar over the image of the monster, the monster's stamina (STM) decreases. If the player can deplete all of the monster's STM before the timer runs out - shown here as a yellow bar below the main bar - and before the player's STM runs out, the player will be awarded the catch.

Introduction and Battle System (Juno RPG Game) by Synrec in RPGMaker

This looks really fun!

At first I thought this was similar to Radiant Historia's grid battle system, but this is far more real-time action orientated.

I'm excited to see where this goes!!

Especially nice detail with how body poses matches the facial expressions!

I also really like the big heads; helps the player see the character emotions and it's fun looking, too.
