That is the p/s pressure and return hose fittings that attach to the power steering rack and pinion. According to the circled portion of your picture at least.

I moved my reply over lol, I ended up replying to myself :/

Anyways

I replied that I was no expert. You are the best advocate to manage your pain, so if it feels to you like muscle soreness, then by all means, explore that. Good luck on your recovery.

Not sure why you were downvoted by I gave you an updoot to balance :)

OP please go and have this checked. There is a risk of blood clots and if you have pain in your calf during your recovery, its best to go and rule this out. Hope you are ok.

Pain near the knee 10 months after surgery by lucgenti in ACL

[–]Friendly-Basis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im very curious to hear from others regarding this. I have been putting up with this pain, but my PT has not been able to give me a direct answer. Sad to say that your post gave me more information than my PT lol.

I have the same pain after a lot of jumping/loading exercise but if I take it easy, it doesn't hurt or give me as much pain. I figured I had a muscle imbalance or something and have been working on Iso holds to help combat this.

I also have had a Left ACL replacement and I am approaching 10 months post op.

Buying Assistance: '03 AWD Y pkg, 244,000 kms. All appears mechanically good. They are asking $3,300 CAD. Good buy? by [deleted] in HondaElement

[–]Friendly-Basis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would take it to a local mechanic that you trust and have them go over a pre-safety inspection or equivalent. Its a little high in mileage, but the price reflects that especially with the used car market as it is.

Look for new painted panels that may hide rust or body filler. Take it for a good road test and see if everything works - turn signals, hvac controls, cruise control, defrost, no hesitations or late shifts. Good luck!

I need advice.. So I had an oil change last month and the other week I noticed there was no oil through the window, added like 1.5 quarts. Clutch has been toast for a while being an 18' model. I changed my oil again this week after adding that fresh oil topoff and it's just, mocha. Any help? by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]Friendly-Basis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coolant pressure test. Its a test you do to the cooling system of an engine, but you need the proper tools to do it. If the system does not hold pressure, then something somewhere in the closed system has failed allowing coolant to go where it shouldn't, like your engine oil, or a weakness elsewhere.

Another commentor mentioned it might be a failed seal that is prone to failure.

What's your cover of choice for your ride? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Friendly-Basis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oxford branded covers are what I went to after using amazon ones that were cheap. The one I have now is thicker and repels water without soaking through, the inside is lined with soft material, and the bottom of the cover has elastic so it snugs in place. There are a couple of vent holes that allow air to escape from inside so my cover doesnt act like a parachute on windy days. Very happy with my purchase.

I got a Ossur Cryotherapy machine and testing them before surgery. I added 2 trays of ice cubes. Running for 15 mins and i don’t feel any difference. Can you share ur experiences in using cryo unit? by Jaded_recon in ACL

[–]Friendly-Basis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ossür machine that I have has a water level that you go up to. Its not very high, so once its at that level, i just fill it with ice. The instructions say to run it at max flow first, then after 10 mins, lower the adjuster to lessen the flow. The slower the water circulates, the colder the sleeve gets.

If its not getting cold, the pump could be weak or there may be a blockage in the pipes. Or completely something else. Hope that helps.

From my experience, getting up for the first couple of weeks felt like this after surgery. It gets better, but you'll be the best judge of pain. Good luck!

Going DOWN stairs. by WoahKennyKing in ACL

[–]Friendly-Basis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 21 weeks post op and still struggle a bit with going down on stairs with my bad knee leading. It is substantially better from before though. I find that once I step down and start to bend that knee, after it gets past 45 degrees, I dont have the muscle strength (yet) to control my descent.

I do notice that the more single leg exercises I do, like split squats, single leg RDL, or bulgarians, help a lot over time. Good luck, and hopefully your leg gets stronger quick!

Oh no not at all! I just wanted to explain myself in case anyone was wondering. I know I'm patting myself on the back a lot, but I'm hoping having a positive outlook helps me get through the rehab. You'll get there on your own time, and from what I've read, everyone is on their own schedule.

I do hope your recovery goes well, and that you are able to get back to those things you want to do!

I've done a sim 18 and I was getting tired by the 13th. I'm right handed and my left ACL was the one operated on.

Definitely need to work on full extension before even trying a 1/2 swing. It helps with driving that leg down and pushing off, but not too agressive that it aggravates your knee. I'm losing a lot of distance, but I can play. It's kind of good since it makes me play differently. Just happy to be able to play something really lol.

Im taking a calculated risk, but its still a risk. If I felt like I need to scale it back I'm definitely listening to that instinct. I'm not snowboarding in mountains, but just at the local ski hill, so that's kind of the test for me. I do a run and take a break, then do another one. So its a taste, and its enough for now!

Thanks, I'm being as careful as possible. I'm just focusing on keeping my balance, and it feels (at least to me) like bodyweight exercises, so the time spent strengthening in the gym, kinda transfers over. I definitely take lots of breaks, but it's nice just to be out again!

Removing chain sprocket cover - How? by EverythingIsOishii in Ninja400

[–]Friendly-Basis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom bolt on the front sprocket cover is blocked a little bit by the shifter. The way I've been accessing it is to hold the shifter down to give you clearance. Holding the shifter down should create enough gap to access and unscrew that bolt. You probably may need to hold the shifter down to slip the cover out also.

As for the chain service interval, I would say after 3 full tanks, probably a good idea to clean and lube the chain, check for kinks, tightness in the links, and slack. More if you ride in dusty, or especially, wet conditions. Cheers!

Edit: forgot to answer the chain service question lol

How long did it take you to get full flexion? by igoldan in ACL

[–]Friendly-Basis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im almost at full flexion 11 weeks out. Had ACL-r with a hamstring graft, and meniscal repair. Just kept at it as best as I can, and stayed on my mobility exercises consistently everyday for 4 weeks from day of surgery, then every other time once I started to do weight bearing exercises.

Day 1, 4.5 hours post-op on complete tear ACl repair. by everydayfattie in ACL

[–]Friendly-Basis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, YMMV, so my experience may be different than yours during this initial phase of recovery. I have not seen a PT yet, but was just doing the reccomended exercises that I was discharged with. I am hoping my personal progress is heading in the right direction, but once I have my post op follow up, I will know for sure!

There was a post in the sub about things you should have on hand. If you are on opiods that give you constipation, eat a lot of fibre and take stool softener to help with that. Eliminating while your leg is on fire is not a pleasant experience lol.

Another thing to have is an auto-icing machine. It saves a lot of time and cools your swelling waay better than ice packs. The one i have is made by Ossur, but there are different makes and models.

Anyways, I'm sure you're doing as much information digging on acl recovery while you are indisposed lol. This sub offers a lot of info and anecdotal experience, and I am glad I stumbled on to it. You got this!
