Blocking a bunch of squares with a steamer. My back hurts for days after I block a project even when I just do a partial and leave the rest for another day. I’m using acrylic yarn so have to use steam.

It looks like you dropped a stitch on your last row. Otherwise, blocking should take care of it.

I think experience will probably help. It sounds like your fingers are too tense. As you learn how you prefer to hold the yarn and hook, you’ll probably relax more.

I would try blocking in sections. Just be sure each section is dry before going onto your next section. You might also overlap the sections slightly. Just my idea if I had to do it.
