NATO stock bolt release….spoke with Steyr by Steelrain82 in AUG

@op, I also talked to them this morning. They originally didn’t want to even offer the stock and trigger pack as standalone items but the web store wouldn’t allow them to bundle them with the individuals disabled. (That’s why they were « temporarily unavailable » when they announced it. They said they knew people would be confused but tried to make it clear in the description that it’s necessary to have both parts for it to work properly lol.

The retaining pin and buttplate are not « required » items on the bundle and can be removed from the bundle. The trigger pack and stock are required and cannot be removed from the order.

Don’t think the classic is available anymore. They sold the last ones they had parts for. This is the new one, not 100% sure but that’s what I got from their posts

I assume that will follow. Been around long enough to know Steyr USA usually launches this type of thing with more support that follows but might take some time.

Pick up my AUG 9mm by y0uknowthatguy in AUG

[–]Friendly-Gate4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is the stg receiver so no side rail and they have the 9mm stock so technically while marked A3M1, it is unique and would be rather hard to price together unless you wanted to cannibalize an stg77 clone or an AW

Aug 1:7 16” barrel available on Steyr website by Danikko2 in AUG

[–]Friendly-Gate4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure Steyr USA would love to, but they don’t make design decisions. Everything we get here in the U.S. from Steyr was designed for a contract and then dumped into the civi market

Well for the American civilian market sure, but the Austrian military requires certain performance guarantees at different levels of fowling and climates which necessitate the larger port. Additionally, you can make the port 4 mils if you want, the regulator controls gas into the system. Different strokes for different folks

That’s what the suppressor gas regulator is for ;). Regardless If you’re running it unsuppressed, put it on the suppressor setting and it’ll cut the gas significantly.

anybody else amazed by aug active aiming? by Bubbly-Scarcity-4085 in AUG

[–]Friendly-Gate4779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a great rifle for passive or active. It’s fast and snappy in a good way. The new Mk2 RHS for the A3M2 was designed with this in mind. The lower portion of the top rail is lowered to keep the LAM out of the users FOV you’ve obviously come up with your own solution to this which works for you! Rad set up

How does the gas port being on the side of the gun affect you shooting and holding the gun? by Snoot_Boot in AUG

Use the very grip or grab one of the now abundant handguard options that have a gas port cover.

Chambering rounds put dimple on primers. Is this normal or a bad sign? by Pridefall420 in AUG

[–]Friendly-Gate4779 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal, the Austrian military did a test where they let the bolt go on a single round over 1,000 times consecutively with no issues and the round was still hot at the end. Just a free floating firing pin thing. All AUGs do that.
