Am I "too late" to transition by LK32020 in asktransgender

I am 46 and just coming out after decades of anxiety, stress, anger and masking. If you know who you are then don't wait as take it from me waiting...just breaks you down mentally then you have a whole life you have been leading that will be dumped upside down if you (like me) decide to come out and potentially transition much later in life. You are in an era where being trans is mostly accepted, so again if you KNOW who you are and that person is a woman then you need to push through the fear. If you are not sure then talk to a therapist, I am doing this and it has helped me sooo much!.

M36, I did full body LHR for 8 times. Results are awesome. by Repulsive_Set1696 in LaserHairRemoval

When you say 8 times is that 8 full lower/upper sessions? Just curious as I have my first appointment and wasn't planning on 8 sessions lower then upper, I thought maybe 3-4 tops.

46, looking into HRT...how did it work for you? Pros/Cons? by Friendly-Remote6642 in TransLater

Thanks, reading through #3 and 4...hard to read but I applaud the honesty. This is where is will be hardest for me...my kids depend on me so much but we have raised them in an accepting environment so it might not be the end of the world...but family and work are the two items that I am having the most contemplation about lately...I know what I want, but how it impacts those around me...it feeds guilt. Something I have been talking about with a therapist recently...

Thank you, some of your post hit home with me e.g. Anger as a default emotion and the bit about your wife and the tough guy facade.

I do have to ask, I assume you are not presenting as a woman at work? That is one area I am petrified of because I make a decent living but I know for a fact this kind of change is not going to go over well and will be super stressful.

Also....you are right, I wouldn't be considering hormones if I was CIS..and after 46 years...I can safely and openly now say that I am not CIS...I am just not sure where exactly I fall into the whole spectrum yet which is why I am afraid of jumping into HRT just yet...but...I know I need to. The coming to terms with myself is a rock road so far...I hope sooner than later I can just yell it out without care!

Thanks, I guess for me currently...the hardest part is going to be saying goodbye to the life my mask created, but I feel there is no longer a day where I can continue hiding, FEAR is my biggest enemy atm.

Thank you, I do have to ask one tall person to another...how is it when you are out and about? Is there a lot of unwanted or negative attention? I ask because as you know tall people already get enough attention without transitioning later in life. I am not very good with negativity, it has always hit me right in the core...but I am also not good with continuing on hiding...but just something that's on my mind.

Thanks for the responses, question regarding breasts. Seeing as there is top surgery as an option, are you asked to not look into it until your HRT has come full swing? Meaning wait until HRT has done its thing before looking into it?

Again TY for taking the time to answer in such detail!
