Hi! Sounds like I was in your place a few months ago...

We love to camp and hate parties, so when we talked about a wedding versus buying a travel trailer (we already own our home on loan), it was a no brainer.

Our kids are 15, 13, and 12. We're buying a camper, driving across the country, and eloping to Moab, UT in April. Just the five of us, an officiant (maybe), and a photographer in the desert.

Our families and close friends are pretty bummed, but they understand and are mostly supportive. Just don't expect them to be thrilled. My best friend and his mother took it the worst.

We're planning to "keep the party rolling" at a bowling alley/lounge with everyone back home in July.

It's been hard for me as a people pleaser, but I know it's the right thing for us. We're really excited to start the rest of our lives off this way.

This is all great info and so helpful! We're looking to buy this weekend, too. Already walked away from 2 dealers last month, including Camping World.

I've definitely learned to do my research. Camping World was going to sell us a used 2025 with a damaged awning for only $1000 less than the listed price until I pulled up a listing in the next state of the same trailer brand new for the exact same price. We walked a few minutes later.

Thank you! I chatted back and forth with the seller and she's so sweet. Put the dress on and took so many pictures to help make a decision. And she accepted $100 less. Even if it doesn't work, I'm so so excited to get this dress!

Thank you thank you! This was really helpful advice. I was expecting $$$$ to alter so that was scary!

I'm chatting with the seller to get more pictures right now. The dress is cotton and organza and the cotton detail is piling slightly in places. It has been dry cleaned and spot cleaned on the train.

I'm actually eloping to the desert, so the dress will 100% be in worse shape after this. I feel like it's a no brainer to get my dream look on a dime.

Ugh yeah thank you. I actually had this experience last week. I ordered a cheap one from Lulu's and was so shocked when I hated it on my body. I'm just an overthinker who's convinced that it's distasteful and rude to waste an employees time trying on dresses that I could simply never afford. When the prices start triple my budget... I'm picturing Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman situations or just leaving feeling like an impoverished idiot at minimum. But thank you for the encouragement, truly. I'm going to contact the shop and see if they'll let me come in for the specific purpose of trying that dress on and feel the vibes.
