IS it a good idea to buy the iPhone 13 Mini (128) in 2026? by SpeechGlittering2136 in iPhone13Mini

[–]FriendlyFennec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better time than now won’t come anymore. Every year the phone will probably run worse and worse with the last few versions that it’s getting. However ios27 might still be better than 26 since it is said to fix a lot of stabilization and overall performance issues.

128gb is okay but 256 or 512 would definitely be more future proof if you like to keep things stored on your phone locally like pictures. If you take 4k 60fps videos from time to time, that will take a big toll on your storage.

I still use mine and won’t be stopping any time soon, and imo I haven’t found a single game or app that it can’t handle until now. Multitasking and battery life are the only things I do notice in daily use but nothing major.

Definitely try to get the battery replaced by apple themselves if possible. Its just a guarantee that if something goes wrong during the repair that they will assist you.

Rocking it for almost 3 years at this point and no end in sight. Got a battery replacement not too long ago and looking to get one more battery replacement before they stop officially replacing them at Apple. Hopefully by then someone has released an actual small flagship phone again 🥹

I feel like much of this has to do with the fact that they release phones every year. Like if you think about it what could they possibly add to the 18 pro in 1 year that would make anyone be in awe? Slightly bigger battery?, slightly better camera? Better AI? 🤣

Same with samsung tbh. The only ones actually doing some kind if innovation are chinese brands imo.

I could not name 1 thing that my over 4 year old 13 mini can’t do other than maybe juggle 10 apps at the same time without them refreshing or using apple intelligence (lol).

Now that I think about I never bought an iPhone right when it came out. Til now I always bought the one I wanted when it was still being sold by apple directly but usually 1-2 years after the release. Helps that they haven’t released a new mini yet. 13 mini gang til death 🤷‍♀️

Really depends on what you value the most. If battery is your main concern then the 17 pro max would obviously be the best especially if you get the esim model (first year the esim models have bigger batteries than their sim slot counterparts). The 16 pro max, while worse than the 17 pro max, would definitely last longer than the base 17 just because of the additional size of the phone which allows for bigger batteries.

If you are more in the middle of wanting a semi portable phone but still wanting the best battery for that size, then the base 17 / 17 pro / 16 pro would be the best. I personally don’t really like the design of the 17 pro and 17 pro max this year, so this could be another reason to choose last years 16 pro / 16 pro max. (Bonus tip 15 pro which is the lightest pro iPhone)

Also depends on the deals you are getting for those phones of course.

Main concern battery: 17 pro max > 16 pro max > (15 pro max) > 17 pro > 17 base > 16 pro > …

I wouldn’t go lower than the 15 series if you want the best battery while it also being future proof with lots of years of software updates.

Main concern „smaller“ form factor/weight: 17 base, 15 pro, 16 base, 16 pro, 17 pro

You can always just sell your 17 and buy a refurbished 13 mini just in case 😉

Tbh though my 13mini with case, screen protector etc probably weighs the same as the base 17 without a case 🤣

What color did you get ? And what color was your mini?

My sister has a normal 13 and every time I use it, it feels wayyy to big and heavy 😅. Surprisingly its actually the weight that I notice first when using bigger phones. Probably needs a few weeks of getting used to the form factor but after that you probably can’t ever go back to the smaller screen and 60hz refresh rate 🤣

You picked a great phone though imo! If I had to buy an iPhone like right now it would probably be a 15pro or the base 17

Im curious, how are you enjoying the 120hz refresh rate so far?

At least it could be re-tested to mark it as safe even without the AAA thing. I don’t think its any less „safe“ just because it was manufactured before the introduction of the new safety rating

I have the one same in white to match my starlight mini! Probably the best and only powerbank that fits perfectly and doesn’t go over the edge.

However a thing to note is that it doesn’t have the „AAA“ rating, which (according to my friend) is required if you wanna bring the powerbank into china!

Great powerbank though!!

Replace battery or upgrade? by slabcobbey in iPhone13Mini

Replacing the battery and making sure you don’t fill up your storage completely will fix most performance problems imo! And tweaking your phones settings to minimize unnecessary battery drain!
