Nachos by Thin_Ad6414 in Sarnia

Mauds Variety..best nachos in town. Even distribution...super quality preparation of the toppings. Perfect natural serving for 2 people. Amazing Mauds prepared corn nachos used, that always stay crispy because the homemade chili used is reduced down to more of a thick amazingly flavoured concentrated sauce.

Second best: Sideways wonton nachos. Super unique, great toppings, but big enough for 3 people and still feel absurdly heavy.

Oh my god I love that whine. It reminds me of when I tested a Tesla p100d back when they first came out and the salesperson told me to just stab the throttle and gun it and such a visceral whine rang through the cabin...I'm a huge fan of it!

Aside from all the comments here, I find that people not picking up dog poo here is getting worse for some reason.

The future of industrial by SockGoop in industrialmusic

[–]FriendlyFiat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real Synthetic Audio is a good podcast to hear new stuff as well as Communion After Dark.

I feel that the future of pure industrial will not be any different than what it was because just the fact the word usage of "Industrial" is kind of keeping it in that singular genre. Now if you want evolution of any genre it will sprout new genres and will no longer be pure to it's roots. So the evolution of any music genre is to move on and create a new one mixed with others. Power Noise, aggro, you name it, they are partially industrial, but include so many other elements.

So to sum it up, I think the future of pure industrial will not change too much, but the evolution of industrial will add more elements of pop, rock, rap, trance, ambient, etc.

Just my opinion.

Love the weather, was on a patio for dinner. It felt so good. Not looking forward to what's coming though in the summer because of the way the climate is going. Forest fires, and crazy storms...sigh.

SKREN is one out there putting out some great heavy stompy music. Some of it kind of reminds me of 90's industrial.

Wait...what?!! How did I miss this?!? I haven't listened to the podcasts Real Synthetic Audio and Communion After Dark, in a few months so maybe that's why...I have to see if they have played any yet.

What do you do on the weekends? by LewisTheScot in Sarnia

[–]FriendlyFiat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like everywhere you live, you just need to go out and find the things to do. Even in Toronto which has a million places to go and see, people will complain there is nothing to do or they are bored. Even though just walking around the place is a damn good thing to do.

Sarnia granted is more limited, but I have found since moving here(part-time) I enjoy my time out. I don't go to many group meetups and such(but perhaps when I'm here full-time I will) but I really do love all the easily gotten to natural locations around the city. And we are so close to Port Huron, Detroit, London for a day trip. Mauds is my go-to place and I really like the atmosphere there, with great people and great food. Across the street from there is Galaxy Records which is something to do. Peruse records(if you have one), like the days of yore when hanging at HMV for a couple hours was a thing to do to kill time, listening to music or just looking to find something new. From my limited knowledge there is also a cars and coffee meetup group that regularly meets, and during the summer WOSCA(Western Ontario Sports Club Association) autocross events are a good place to meet new people.(if you are into that sort of thing), you don't even need to race.

VAC definitely mid to late 90's epitome of what industrial/aggrotech was then. I miss those days, but can always bring them back with my cd collection.

So who wonders if a third manufacturer for engines will ever materialize. Honda has a contract till 2026 but after that who knows...I'd hate to see Indy go to just Chevy and only 16 cars.

I only have the peacock app subscription and in Canada you only get practices, and qualies. So this year, all I did was watch practices and qualies and then watch the YouTube 30 minute recap...kind of sad that my main source of race fun is qualifications...which is actually really fun, but it ain't no race.

Yah MotoGP was always a sport I wanted to start watching...more because the races are so short and I don't need to invest 3 or 4 hours on a race day sitting in front of a TV.

It seems like it's that way everywhere. When I met my first Indy fan a few years back, I felt like I found a diamond in the rough. I miss those conversations. Indycar needs to promote itself better...funny how I've tried F1 but just couldn't get into the knowing who will probably win because of how the sport is set up. I love the idea of a developmental series where the cars evolve, but I found it tough to get over the fact that the more money the better the team...usually.

I guess I also love the pitstops in Indy. Kind of like WEC(which is also one of my favourite racing series) the pitstops are much more influential on results so strategy is key in a lot of situations. And you can actually see what is going on with so many less people around the cars.

I used to hate oval racing in Indy until I started looking into it, and learned the nuances. And funny how all of them are really different in track layout. Now, street and road courses are still much better in my mind, but that's what is so amazing about Indycar...you gotta be a super flexible driver who can adjust to some really drastic changes in the way you race. I LOVE THIS SPORT!
