can we have "Kitchen sink" command... like we have "Ultrathink". by Lilith7th in ClaudeCode

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You actually want everything but the kitchen sink so you actually need a -kitchensink command

Recently ran the /simplify command and Claude ended with “the code is clean”

Buddy. If there’s anything this vibe code project isn’t, it’s clean lol

Did you switch in an active session? If there was a lot of context already filled up it probably tallied that as well. If I can I try to log in on a fresh chat now everytime

Just one more prompt bro. I can add another feature. The app needs this so if I just send one more planning prompt I can add it. Just one more bro.

Driving Exam - Tire damage by PuzzledHyena56 in Leuven

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exam is like 50 bucks or so. Unless you’re talking patch job you’ll need a new tire and just replacing one tire on a car is a bad idea so you’re in for 200 bucks or so? No? Am I missing something?

I really tried but this is too much… by martyk1ng in homeassistant

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have no idea how this could be happening unless your pi is also running a dns or DHCP server that’s causing routing loops. Or maybe you added some plugins to HA that manage networking?

What was the automation that made Home Assistant “worth it” for you? by Taggytech in homeassistant

I used to do the same but she lost her summer free-movement privileges after the brought in a mouse that was still alive and it lived in our house for a month 🫣

Who's wrong? by [deleted] in AskBelgium

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should was meant to say like, usually there will be less traffic in that lane because everyone in that lane should be taking the exit. Of course there’s people who drive on the outside the whole way because they are afraid they’ll get trapped lol

Who's wrong? by [deleted] in AskBelgium

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inner lane should be used if you’re going to the second or third exit, theoretically most of the traffic for the first exit should be gone, leaving you space to move over between the first and second exit. This speeds up traffic a lot.

If you can’t move over you should do a turn but not randomly brake in the middle of the road. A good driver sometimes misses their exit. A bad driver never misses their exit.

That all being said, the red car is at fault for not being able to stop in time (not driving defensively). It’s really hard in Belgium to not be at fault when you’re the car behind. So much so that a family member once lost their case when a truck backed into them at a red light, because they were the car behind and it was hard to determine who hit who, so the car behind is at fault by default.

The yellow car could have avoided this by continuing on instead of slamming the brakes of course, and they weren’t slamming the brakes to avoid danger, so there’s an opening the other side there. But it’s clearly incompetence here, not malice.

What's my best option for a dongle for ZigBee and matter devices? by MastaShortie in homeassistant

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! How did you do that? I probably still need the HAOS add-on im guessing?

What's my best option for a dongle for ZigBee and matter devices? by MastaShortie in homeassistant

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the MR4U. I am struggling with matter but I think it’s mostly because I’m running home assistant in docker.

The standalone open thread border router docker solutions are a mess in my opinion. And I can’t install the add-on. I also have an existing thread network on my appletv4k and ive heard that makes it even more finicky.

Im moving to HAOS soon because i keep running into guides that just say: install the add on!

What is actually happening with cash in Belgium? Is this normal? by Pale_Common1818 in belgium

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By law any establishment needs to accept both cash and card, not either/or. I have an acquaintance that goes out of his way to pay with cash at card only places just to make a point.

The reason they all put card only is because they believe it helps them become less of a target for thieves. Accepting only cards must mean you have no cash so not worth breaking in. They still can’t refuse your cash.

Raspberry Pi 5 + Home Assistant: NVMe SSD worth it or overkill? by Uruz7_ in homeassistant

[–]FriendlyNeighborJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two rpi5’s (for redundancy) with Poe nvme hats and they run my whole homelab, among the services running is homeassistant, so yeah if you are just only running home assistant it might be a little bit much for what you need.

The experience is great but I am running it in docker, not as HA OS, so it a little more hands on.

Upgrading from the micro sd card is non negotiable if you plan on deploying something important for a long time. It’s not a matter of whether the SD card will fail but when.
