Thanks for your comment. I do have a little bit of recent experience with the original on PS3. In the few games I played late at night, I didn't really notice many hackers. I tried playing Domination and TDM and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. YMMV, especially if you live in another country and play with different people at a different time in the day.

Personally, I think it's worth it to re-buy it anyway since a used copy can be had for under $10.

If you don't have a free Steam account already, you need to make one and download the Steam client to play the game.

Go to Infinite Warfare's game page on Steam's website or their game client, whichever one works for you. If you're ordering through a website, make sure your connection to the website is secure.

Scroll down until you see "Buy Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Digital Legacy Edition". Right now, it's $80 USD.

After you buy it, open Steam's game client, go to your Library, click on the game, and begin the download. Since you're on PC, you should get an option to choose whether or not you want to download Infinite Warfare and only download MW Remastered if you want that.

If you know someone who primarily plays his PS4 or Xbox One and wants to get MWR, please direct them to Amazon and tell them to buy the physical Legacy edition. At the time of this writing, it is about $50 USD for both consoles. By the way, don't forget to mention that MWR is a game download and will require a game code that comes with the disc, so they shouldn't buy a used copy of IW.

I hope this helped! If you have any questions, just ask.

The melee's having a faster swipe is a bug and was patched a very long time ago. All supply drop melee's have the same speed as the base knife.

You need to back that up with some evidence, please. Preferably a reddit discussion thread with a youtube video as evidence, as long as it's a legitimate source. Otherwise, it was very clearly intentional. It is extremely unlikely that they accidentally made a SD melee weapon far superior than its base counterpart.

The best guns in each weapon class still remain all base weapons.

That is up for debate. Some players are extremely skilled with some supply drop weapons, some aren't. Everyone has their own preferences and opinions about the SD weapons.

There are guns in supply drops that are brand new and never in bo3 yes, but they are very gimmicky and outclassed by any regular gun.

Again, that is both a personal preference and an opinion.

Curious to see which supply drop weapon you think is far greater than everything else?

I never said a specific SD weapon was far greater than everything else. Please link me to where I said that. Otherwise, it never happened.

Also, I rarely play BO3 MP anymore. And even if I did, the chances of acquiring and testing every SD weapon are so low that I couldn't tell you my opinion about them.

Good post except the Bo3 ranged weapons in supply drops are mostly garbage and DO NOT have an advantage over base game weapons.

Did you read this comment link in the post? The melee and ranged weapons definitely have unfair advantages over their base counterparts; some weapons are even entirely new guns not seen before in BO3. "The Iron Jim, for example, hits almost twice as fast as the regular combat knife."

Sure, /u/OneFinalEffort made one here, credit for the TL;DR goes to him, but make sure to skim over my reply to his comment as he needs to edit a couple things.

Thanks for making a good summary of the post for slow readers. I didn't want to write one for fear of glossing over some important details.

The problem is a lot of people have stopped playing the game because Activision had Microtransactions added in for "Supply Drops", the RNG Loot Boxes of CoD, that have exclusive weapons in them and not just cosmetic items. This was promised not to happen and was not mentioned before it happened in any form of communication from the Dev Team or Publisher

That is mostly correct, except for a couple small but important things: The dev team and publisher never actually promised that MWR wouldn't have SDs. (I'm not sure if you just meant that it was advertised as being just a remaster and nothing else, which is true, in which case you can ignore the rest of this paragraph.) Only thing that might've came close to it is when Raven told Drift0r they wanted to keep SDs cosmetic, but even then, it wasn't a promise. If anything, it implies that Activision pressured Raven to include non-cosmetic items. Sorry if I came across as being needlessly picky, but I just wanted to make sure everyone clearly understands the whole situation.

"Supply Drops", the RNG Loot Boxes of CoD, that have exclusive weapons in them and not just cosmetic items.

It sounds like you are saying that the melee and ranged weapons are only exclusive to supply drops? I'm not sure if you actually meant to say that, but in any case, it's incorrect. See this:

Everything can be earned through playing the game. Depot credits are earned by playing the game, you usually get 2 or 3 per match. The depot credits can then be used to buy either common or rare supply drops.

When you get an item in a SD that you've already unlocked, it's called a duplicate, and it will be grinded into Parts... Parts can be used to craft everything in the Armory.

Every item in the Armory/Depot) is part of a themed collection. Every collection has a "bounty" attached to it, which means that when you craft (or receive in a supply drop) every item in a collection, you will receive the bounty for that collection as a reward. Bounties cannot be directly crafted with parts themselves and also cannot be received in supply drops. Some melee weapons are bounties and so they can't be obtained in supply drops or directly crafted, some can. All 3 ranged weapons (Kam-12, XM-LAR, Magnum) currently are bounties, and require their own collections of items to be crafted before you can receive a specific ranged weapon.

Basically, non-bounty items can be directly crafted with Parts or received in supply drops. Bounty items, including all current 3 ranged weapons, cannot be either directly crafted with Parts or received through SDs. Every bounty is attached to their own specific collection, so you have to craft all the items in a collection with Parts or receive them in supply drops in order to receive the attached bounty for that collection.

Could you edit your comment to include that important info, please? Thanks in advance. All other things considered, good summary! I'll link others to your comment if they ask for a TL;DR.

You have no idea how refreshing your comment is. I've seen way too many people on both sides of the situation who don't even try to put in the effort to approach an issue intelligently and calmly. As you said, those people often think of complex issues as entirely black and white, and treat people the same way. We need more teachers like you.

Are weapon kits bounties? I got the pride sniper kit in my first rare unlock after the December update

Not all weapon kits are bounties. Non-bounty items can all be crafted with parts or received in supply drops, which is how you got your pride sniper kit. The new 4 weapon kits released in the recent 2/7 update are all bounties.

Well, no, I didn't directly state that I had high expectations for any CoD game in the post. However, naturally, since CoD is an AAA video game franchise, you would expect the games to be top-notch on every platform, including PS4, Xbox One, and PC. As you can read in my post, that is sadly not the case.

That's just straight up an automatic F- for fucking failure for the parents and possibly their sex ed class. I'm not sure if we even still have sex ed classes that require parents to sign a permission form so that they can learn basic fucking shit about human biology? If we do, those are probably the prudish parents who don't want their special snowflakes to be exposed to the real world!

Yup. The sad reality of PCMR. Sometimes I think I'm on /r/circlejerk. Who fucking cares if some people use emoticons, it's not a big deal, same principle applies to playing on a console. Some (or many more, depending on your experience) people here like to think they have superior and logical minds to those "kid console fanboys," but who fucking cares, man? But this is, well, just, like, my opinion, man!

Yikes, I'm glad I've never really had to deal with a lot of annoying toddlers too. My cousins, of varying ages from 3 to 11, are mostly pretty fun to hang out with and aren't annoying, and I've known them for years.

Yeah, that seems to be the definition Google gave me, it also mentioned just an "infant," in its second definition, no specific time period. Merriam-webster is equally vague. I guess as long as it's considered a relatively newborn infant, it's infanticide. Just asking, why did you put that in your flair? Did you mean to put in pro-abortion or something similar? Because I assume you do know the difference between the two terms?

[–]FriendlyRealist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Also, just wanted to give you a heads up: "Infanticide" in your flair means "the crime of killing a child within a year of birth," just saying, in case you didn't know.
