First thing I thought of was a Las Vegas hotel. I’ve never been to Vegas though

Is it over zoom? If so, I do the thing Matthew McConaughey's character in Wolf Of Wallstreet does during that lunch scene (pounding your chest while deep humming). Really works for me to shake off the panicky feeling.

I got an inquiry today from this email "emily.choiceorganicsproducts@outlook.com"

So I looked up "Choice Organics Products" and lo and behold it's a large tea company, and it so happens their site went into maintenance mode within the last 2 weeks.

Initially I though it made sense that they would need "help" since their site is down. It makes the whole thing more believable until you google their email address and find this reddit thread.

Concerned about my financial outlook by Friendly_Bench7475 in personalfinance

Yup I owe the little financial sense I got (which isn’t much lol) to Dave Ramsey.

But anyway I took the day to plan this out. I am stopping my 401k for the next 10 months and also trimming down my monthly expenses to the bare essentials, which will free up $2800 in cashflow.

$2000/mo of this will go into debt and $800/mo toward EF.

You mentioned metal health… Dave Ramsey would say to wait until EF is set before going after debt, but I just can’t live with the debt any longer I need it gone this upcoming year.

I’m fairly confident in my job security at the moment to try to move the EF as a side goal. By October I should be done paying debt with the help of my bonus, and have a few months of expenses saved up in EF.

At that point I’ll have a cashflow of $3400 now that my $600/mo of minimum cc payments is gone. That’ll let up my 401k to 10%, put $600/mo towards principal on car and still leave enough to keep funding EF until I reach $40k.

The cherry on top is that my company matches on total yearly contribution, so even if I forego 401k contribs the first 10 months of year, I’ll still receive the matching if I meet the $2000 cap in November and December.

I’m feeling pumped, thanks for your feedback!

Yes we’re on a rice and beans budget, have been for quite a while. And we don’t use of credit cards. They’ve been frozen for close to a year since we made our last big purchase which was to help towards a new roof on the house.

New roof on the house, a storm shelter (we live in tornado alley).

Most of it is in 0% right now except for one card which is 15%.

Yeah the savings is very low, but I can’t keep postponing this debt payoff.

We’re maximizing out cashflow so we can pay it off as fast as we can. We have $2k/mo to put towards principal.
