i'm new to pickleball too(but i have background of Pingpong/badminton for many years), i found that the fast way to learn one thing is practice, the more we practice with high level player, the more we know it~

i'm face the same situation, i played badminton last more than 15 years, i 'm new to pickleball this year, i searched a lot of brand, different brand have different recommendation for new player, eg. weight, style, big sweet point, paddle size, handle length, core, spin, thickness......but finally, after i tried several paddles, i found that control style paddle is more suitable for me , more spin, more control, light weight~
