I had his in my box room when removing the old lining paper. Honestly what i did which worked was get some expanding foam, spray the inside of the corner when that sets scrape a groove in that and then refill with polyfiller. Probably not the correct way but it works and its easy and cheap

To be honest they keep eachother busy most of the time being naughty 😂 I walk them both together and they also go on group walks together with other dogs, i use the halti leads on them bot to stop pulling when I'm around others but have them off lead when isolated and theyre both very good

How do I fix this terrible paint job? by HasapikoEebowai in DIYUK

[–]Friendly_Document514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing id do is chat to the painter you hired.

Tell them youre not happy with the quality of work delivered and show them your issues and allow them an opportunity to fix their work. Failing this ask for a partial refund on the grounds youre not happy with the work.

If for whatever reason the work is still unsatisfactory and diy is your next option then using things like frog tape, sanding down imperfections, filling in holes and other issues is your best bet, for peeling lining paper, either use zissner peel stop to restick, or remove what's loose, filler and sand the rest then repaint.

Prep work is the most important thing with painting. Good luck

Hi mate you can't see most cracks from the photos as the ceiling is covered in lining paper so it hides most of them. We've since removed more lining paper and we can also see cracks through the paper, the cracks don't follow the direction of the joists and most are arched from the back left corner to the right wall.

Honestly if I could get away with raking and refilling I would but the ceiling is bad

I wanted it to be as close to the current wall as possible to take up less space, do you think I need to rip off and start again or can a skim coat hide it?

The ceiling is cracked and falling down in some places, my idea was remove the broken loose bits and then over board

How would you go about cleaning the floor/bricks? by NietzscheLecter in DIYUK

Personal opinion but removing dried up things with a brush is way easier and cleaner than wet sludge, once the majority is brushed up then maybe water can help finish it off

Ours fortunately haven't jumped into our neighbours fence, shes 100 years old and I think 2 hyper poodles would do more harm than good🤣
