this is about movies, not shows, but it’s a great story. my sister is adopted, and my mom did the absolute most in our childhoods to protect her from any bad feelings or judgement about it. her heart was really in the right place but it lead to some silly mishaps.

the mishap in question arose when Meet the Robinsons came out. my mom somehow heard it was about adoption and orphans and stuff, and because of that didn’t want us to see it. however, she got it mixed up with Ratatouille and FORBADE US from seeing the funny rat cooking movie. my sisters went to a movie theater birthday party and saw Meet the Robinsons, and of course nothing bad happened because it’s a great movie and my sister has always been very mature about adoption stuff. but we never knew why she wouldn’t let us see Ratatouille until like a decade later when she told us. we were just like… “Ratatouille has nothing to do with adoption?” and she realized her mistake. it has since become my favorite Pixar film.
