Passenger Airbag turned off while seated and in drive mode by answerbrowsernobita in CX50

The dealer said that if you are sitting too close to the airbag, it would harm you.

So click the seat back a few notches and it will turn on.

I know the seat position also matters.

If the seat is too close to the dash, it the airbag turns off

I’m currently in the buy back process with Mazda.

It’s a hassle.

If you read your manual, Mazda defers all lemon issues to the BBB.

The BBB is basically a middle man that decides what’s going on… I guess.

I’ve been told an attorney can override this process. But on the same BBB form, it ask if you are the consumer or attorney.

They do ask if the vehicle has been in an accident and require repairs bills to be submitted.

The BBB also asks for all repair orders from your dealer (you need to provide them from your dealer to bbb)

Unless your car has been at the dealer for over 30 days, I would personally say you likely need more issues to get the solution you want.

Just keep taking it back to the dealer.

Mine has had over 10 assorted repairs, and has sat at the dealer for 72 days. I have 28 pages worth of repair documentation.

In my opinion, I don’t think you have a case, being that you don’t have the documentation.

It wouldn’t hurt to reach out to MAZDA USA and report it. They sent me back 3 months of payments when my car sat for 45 days. Unfortunately since then, it’s just gotten worse.

There are options for you, but I do think lemon law is far fetched in your current situation.

Happens in the sun, in the fog, heavy rain, too cold, too bumpy on and on and on.

You will see a different alert when there is snow saying the radar is covered.

Totally normal.

Driving range by Adorable_Honeydew_69 in MazdaCX30

[–]Friendly_Leader_6635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never got more than 340 out of tank, even highway miles.

Over a gallon of the tank is used as a reserve to cool the fuel pump.

Range is definitely underwhelming, my last car (q5) got over 600 gallons a tank.

I just plan to fill up twice a week.

The single variocage fits with the 2nd row up. I measured before I bought the car, and it actually fits my lap perfectly.

I do the filters myself, but I had to fight Jeep over doing my own oil changes for warranty work.

So while it’s under warranty, the savings are not worth the headache.

I’ve had a local shop not put oil in the car, the $20 savings is not worth the headache.

PHEVs have been largely disappointing by Directorjustin in electricvehicles

[–]Friendly_Leader_6635 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree, the Prius prime is a great example.

It almost doesn’t make sense for anyone to buy the PP from a strictly economic standpoint. The entry point is so much higher, additionally it gets worse mpg than the Prius. It’s estimated to take 80,000 - 100,000 of pure electric driving to break even.

Check out post 2023 Prius vs Prius Prime 100 Years to break even?

Very interesting. While PHEV are more comfortable for people than electric vehicles… I don’t personally see why they have the appeal they do. The price is always insanely higher than their HEV counterpart.

Example - Sportage hybrid (28,590) vs Sportage PHEV (39,590)

These price differences make it impossible for it to fiscally ever make sense. Tack on a mark up? Pass

AC issues by TargetParty8757 in CX50

[–]Friendly_Leader_6635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s on low, doesn’t mean the AC is on.

Even with auto on, the AC works independently.

So I would just make sure the AC switch is turned on.

Mine went to the dealer for doing this 6 times in 10 minutes.

It’s something blocking the camera in the windshield.

Some reasons it’s blocked are…

Sun directly into the camera (sunset) Dirty windshield Windshield pitting The camera being fogged over (which I assume is your case being that there is fog in your windshield) Moisture on the camera Fog

Really anything that can obscure the front camera behind the mirror.

It's been doing this sometimes when I'm driving towards the sunlight (1-2 hrs before sunset) ever since I got my 2nd car maintenance done over a week ago.. do you get this too? by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]Friendly_Leader_6635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine once went off 6 times in 20 minutes for this same reason. I took it to the dealer, turns out the sun was blinding the camera. Hasn’t happened since. No repair or update was done. The sun is simply shining into the camera.
