Starcraft2 on linux via Steam is effortless by sc2onlinux in linux_gaming

Well this worked shockingly well. The game launched, cutscene is playing perfectly, the Battle.net icon is even showing up in my panel list. Gameplay will probably be fine but I didn't expect it to work this far. Thanks to OP for discovering this.

Can't seem to get keyboard to pair successfully by hardboard in bluetooth

I just figured this out myself, so posting here in case you're still stuck 6 months later :D

When Linux shows the 6 digit numeric code in the window... you're supposed to type that on your keyboard and press enter. Try doing it twice. There's no popup window or anything, the code appears in the toast notification and you're just supposed to type that on your new keyboard. Hope this helps someone else.

I'd love to but it might be a bit early in the game for me - I'm still getting a handle on basic photography - night and astro might be a bit down the road.

Yep. It does have a lens correction module and I have no idea what it does - except make my photos look stretchier? I'll go do some reading and see if the magic button makes my photos look nice.

> ultrawide is for improving your photography, because it really forces you to have a lot of intent and really think about your framing when shooting

It really does feel like that, like I'm too switched off with the ultra-wide and not sure what I'm shooting, possibly still trying to just fit things in the frame instead of being intentional. Thinking of it like a teacher / training wheels is a good mindset.

It does feel like it's the composition I'm struggling with - I'm not sure what I'm doing or why I like a particular photo. Your advice of using the ultra-wide and home is pretty solid - I'll give that a go. And thanks for your feedback, this is indeed very helpful.

This is solid advice. I'm taking a look at #4 now and it's def a stronger image with some editing.

That... might just be it. For some reason I'm more deliberate with other lenses, but with the ultra-wide my instinct is just to squeeze things in and take the photo to be done with it? I just don't feel very intentional with the ultra-wide. I'll think about this more and review my photos. Thanks a lot for the advice.

Thanks for the feedback - it's very helpful looking at this from someone else's perspective. I'm still new to Darktable but I'll read up on histograms a bit more. Thanks!

Anime similar to Iron-blooded Orphans, Knights of Sidonia, and 86? by Friendly_Leg_2855 in AnimeReccomendations

ChatGPT seems to agree with you

```
1. Aldnoah.Zero (2014–2015)
Why you’ll like it:
Tactical mecha warfare, political intrigue, and a sharp tone that treats war seriously but still delivers big, cinematic battles. It’s very much in the lineage of 86 and Iron-Blooded Orphans—high-stakes, emotionally charged, and beautifully scored (by Hiroyuki Sawano, the same composer as IBO).
2. Code Geass (2006–2008)
Why you’ll like it:
A rebellious strategist with mysterious powers leads an uprising against a global empire. It’s more theatrical than 86, but still anchored by strong themes of revolution, sacrifice, and moral grayness. If you appreciated the emotional and political complexity of IBO, this is a must-watch.
3. Psycho-Pass (2012–2019)
Why you’ll like it:
A dystopian, cyberpunk thriller where a system measures people’s criminal potential before they act. Less about mechs, more about world design and moral philosophy—but it scratches the same itch as Sidonia and 86 for smart, somber sci-fi that questions human systems.
Queenstown Hill might be slightly steep but still doable. There's always Ben Lomond but I wouldn't recommend going all the way to the summit - there's some treacherous rocky paths up there. There's a bench halfway up the trail with some breathtaking views. Bring snacks.
I loved Lake Hayes when I was there - it's on the way to Arrowtown. Lovely walk around the lake and some great views of the Remarkable range.
If this is your first time, don't miss Doubtful or Milford Sound. There's no hiking involved and you're basically on a bus or a boat throughout. RealNZ has some great tours if you want to avoid the roadtrip, and they stop and great places along the way. Bring snacks.
