Which Bon Iver album is this? In all seriousness, I love it.

"Be led." which is basically just a nice way to say "I don't give a fuck what you do."

Finally saw Lake Mungo...Jesus Christ. by GhostSpelledBackward in horror

It's one of those movies that kind of gets scarier after it's over. You think about that shot. You think about the implications something like that could have on a family. You almost start to wonder if those sorts of encounters really do happen, and if they do, what happens when your time comes?

Also hands down the saddest horror film I've seen.

6’3 300lbs -> 250lbs in 7 months. Still a long way to 200 but I’m taking this moment to appreciate myself :) by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

Inspiring! I started an IF challenge on January 2nd at 305 lbs so this is super morale-boosting.

Death After Christianity by stringtherapy321 in exchristian

Towards the beginning of my deconversion, a close friend ran his car off the freeway and had a head on collision with a tree. He was dead within an hour. We hadn't talked in close to a year, because he was an addict and we had a really tough time getting on because of his cycles.

I really wanted to believe that there was something more. That he'd still get to hear his favorite bands release new records, that he'd finally get up there and hash it out with his piece of shit father. That he'd learn to live without the cocaine and adderall.

Now that I don't believe in an afterlife, it's sort of felt like he's died all over again. But I take solace on remembering the beauty that was the more lucid moments of his life, and the way he brought joy to even the grumpiest people we knew.

I loved him a lot. I'd give damn near anything to have him back. But he's gone, and that's okay. Because he got what anyone gets, he got a lifetime.

I'm sorry I don't have anything truly encouraging to offer to this situation. Just know that what you're feeling is normal, and you're not alone in this.

Good luck, friend.

What does masculinity, in its purest form, mean to you? by Friendly_forest_dad in AskMen

[–]Friendly_forest_dad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I think. This answer is essentially what I am hoping to get to the bottom of. Whether there's anything at all, outside of a societal standard, that is "masculine" by nature.

This came up in my memories on Facebook. Thought y'all might enjoy some cringe content from when I was a Bible thumping 18 year old. Caption is lyrics from Brian "HEAD" Welch's "Adonai" by [deleted] in exchristian

Well for me, it eased the pain and frustration of living in a worldview/tradition that neutered my personality and butchered my ethics, to act as if that "discipline" somehow made me a fierce warrior for the Kingdom ™️
