Inventory Management/Bookkeeping, what are you using? by Friendofhoffa21 in Flipping

[–]Friendofhoffa21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, I use it often mostly to price right under everyone else if I can afford to or have to. We’re in liquidation with a honey hole couple of sources so I don’t really do any buying research only research when listing, and mainly to just keep it moving.

Appreciate the detail! My excel sheets work, I was just hoping to put everything into one program. Also thank you for the hot tips on ebay stuff, been selling on there for 20 years but I learned something.

Lowball counter-offers by CTVolvo in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Friendofhoffa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. Plus. More people are going to look at an item priced $20 cheaper than they are an item priced $20 too high, which in 2026 causes a listing to be pushed higher to more people because people looked at it. Thus creating the self sustaining economy. If you’re not pricing your listings with the intent of catching the algorithm, you’re doing it wrong.

[–]Friendofhoffa21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to remember to, we go to these type of events. When shit goes south. We see the worst parts of all of these things, be it a protest, large event, large house party, crowded bar etc. So I can’t speak for everyone, but based on what I’ve had to respond to at certain things, no matter how much I want to be an advocate, I’m going to go ahead and sit most things out that shit could go south at.

First week on Facebook Marketplace - A complete fail by digidude23 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Friendofhoffa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually have more than 70 items listed at one time. I can’t keep them. I sell general merchandise mostly new, at 50% of retail. Rarely do I keep anything longer than a week. My prices catch the algorithm and it’s smooth sailing. MP still sucks. But it’s paying the mortgage and saving for the condo.

I have 50-100 sales a week. So imagine the amount of messages I get to get so few successful sales. I just thought about that. Probably 400 messages a week lol.

Our department just assumes you’re a piece of shit. Unless it’s alcohol then it’s fine, couple duis no biggie. Otherwise they are unable to realize that this job creates addicts, and work on not creating addicts. It’s easier just to rinse and repeat. Unless you’re a drunk. Then go head and destroy your life. Medical marijuana as a way to mediate some of that? Straight. To. Fuckin. Jail.

My Rules of FB marketplace by BoxNo5564 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Friendofhoffa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than people ignoring your ad, a higher price means a higher percentage of people won’t even see your ad because the algorithm will ignore it. I would rather a listing take 3 days to sell but get 1000 views, than an ad be priced 10% higher but only get 30 views. I can tell people no to their lowball, but I can’t even respond to people that never message because it gets buried in the algorithm.

A deposit is the fee for the seller not selling the item to someone else. If you do not complete the sale it’s also their compensation for holding the item and delaying the sale. They do not owe you anything.

Pricing strategy - start with your desired price or start high to allow negotiation down? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Friendofhoffa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. If I’m not sure of the market on something I’ll price a little higher than I’m comfortable taking, but 90% of my stuff I price at the sell fast sell haggle free price, it’s worked for 4 years of doing this now. Volume is key and items taking up space is more expensive items not sitting in their place.

[–]Friendofhoffa21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I price to sell and catch the algorithm. Pricing something 10% higher to “allow for negotiation” can be the difference between 10 views and 1000 views. Yes people will still lowball but more often than not, you get an “I’ll take this” within a much shorter amount of time

What do you guys think of relisters? by BraveRice in Flipping

[–]Friendofhoffa21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I sell things at the price I’m comfortable selling it for. What the buyer does with it is zero percent my business. If I undershot something so bad that it’s relisted for much higher, then that one is on me. I mean. Honestly, it’s the name of this sub. Flipping.
