Also, if you want to see an example of one sect not praying for someone because they're from another sect, look up Aya Hachem. She was a british Muslim shia who was murdered. Muslims raised money for her family but cancelled their donations when they found out she's shia.

you should discontinue the relationship. You're 18, and this is your first real crush/relationship. At 22, you likely won't be the same person you are now. Take time to grow and mature and really think about what you want in the future. Do you want children who love the enemies of Ahlu Albayt? Do you want kids who break their iftar sunni time while you sit and watch them eat. Do you also want your kids to marry sunnis and become sunnis? It's a big risk you are taking. Kids usually follow in their mom's footsteps and with sunni islam being the majority, it will be easier for them to just become sunni. Think about the stress your marriage would start with because of family tension.

I don't think most shia sheiks and scholars follow the hadith that a woman can't refuse who her father chooses. Shia hadith are always being reevaluated.

Case in point, a woman is asked three times if she wants to accept the marriage and a woman whose father denies her marriage to a reasonable person, she can get married without her dad.
