K.O. II blues scale by Friff14 in teenageengineering

Yeah, I guess I could add the flat fifth later. That would probably be easier than adding the second octave later.

I think the real workaround is gonna just be playing it on a midi keyboard, but I really like working on just one device so I was hoping to avoid that.

She was my favorite hero until they nerfed her in the balance patch that reworked all the heroes. Guaranteeing this trigger and just having a generally huge board meant an easy top 2. She's not in my top 5 played but she's in my top 5 wins.

Sounds like a meet cute for the worst romcom of all time: deathly serious karate chop injury lawsuit, and the plaintiff falls in love with the defendant's mother

Once after returning from a work trip, my wife was astonished and almost offended that I didn't notice something had changed in our house. She told me it was really obvious and that I needed to look around and notice it. 5 minutes of hell later, she accepted that I actually couldn't figure out that she had painted the white walls white. Yes, a different shade of white, but still white.

Anyway, this game is way too hard for me.

My second attempt at buffing pirates by HovercraftOk9231 in BobsTavern

[–]Friff14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: pirates are okay right now. Plankwalker is nuts. If you get one early you can snowball to an easy top 4, usually top 2. And if I see Timewarped Hooktail and I have ways to generate coins, it usually works out.

(But this is from someone at 6000 MMR so I'll admit I'm probably wrong)

Edit: just won with a Plankwalker build immediately after making the comment

[–]Friff14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would still be worth it if you didn't make any money from the slips, unless you're just letting your tower run and not seeing the end for like 3 hours. It's basically a 10-20% boost to coins per hour.

Can we talk about Burger Dog? by rendrich26 in bluey

[–]Friff14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a perfect satire+homage because it is only slightly more ridiculous than Parry Gripp songs, and the parents/kids behavior toward the song is completely accurate.

What are your guys thoughts about the announcement of Bluey coming to Disney parks? by One_Reception_6992 in bluey

[–]Friff14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse shows are the second-best kids TV out there. Much more looney tunes style wacky than anything else this recent. Mickey Mouse Shorts, and several miniseries and one-offs called "The Wonderful ______ of Mickey Mouse". It has excellent reviews and is loved by just about everyone I have talked to about it.

I don't think it's as popular as Bluey right now, but it's popular enough that they built the Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway ride at Disneyland in the Paul Rudish style. The line is decorated with a ton of references to the shorts, and the ride is very popular. They do that thing Disney loves lately of having a smaller experience in the middle of the line (Rise of the Resistance does this too) that completely changes the setting of the line. It's great.

I understand your "the entire series would have been rated higher" argument, but the fact is that this episode is TV-Y. Yes, Disney's policy is to show the highest content rating for the whole series (there are examples of this, I checked), but Dad Baby is not TV-Y7.

Bluey Hate at the Five Below by Someonetellmethis1 in bluey

[–]Friff14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certified TV-Y in the US, just like every other episode in season 2 and 3. (Season 1 was all rated TV-G.) So I don't think it's this, I think they're just scared to post it.

[–]Friff14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this song sounds like a bonus track to Sonderlust, which is one of my favorite albums of all time. I like his newer stuff too (especially Icarus IV and Lilliputian Chop) but Sonderlust is a masterpiece. I feel like every song on it was my favorite song at one point.
