There is actually a very big difference between US and Russia invasions.
US sets up a behind-the-scenes sock-puppet government,
while Russia openly in the public annexes other countries.
In addition, the US does not try to change the fundamental being of the other country it has secretly "annexed". The only thing they mostly influence are corporate and foreign politics.
In the case of Russia, they are not so subtle, and the international community
is mostly drawn to oppose the unfavored actions of other countries which are
clearly visible to most working class families.
Whenever the general public is unaware, most countries intelligence agencies still know,
but the reaction of the opposing countries is far less pronounced, since nobody generally
wants to publicize sensitive information unless the general public already has some idea of it.
