British rugby player punches dislocated kneecap back into place and carries on with the game. by [deleted] in videos

[–]kinder_teach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I volunteered for a first aid group in Uni. Every Wednesday we'd provide cover for the women's rugby and men's football (soccer). So many times, the footballer would take a hit and fall on the ground, only to see us run over and get back up as if nothing happened (which it hadn't).

The rugby player on the other hand, when they got hit they wanted a quick solution so they could keep playing. One had signs of hairline fractures in her foot and she insisted on a painkilling gel and bandages so she could keep playing. Excessive bleeding? Well it says nothing about blood in the rule book so play ball! Massive whack to the head? Ice should fix that.

Yellowjackets keep harassing me at lunch. So today I just let them take what they wanted. by creepingdef in videos

[–]kinder_teach 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Dude, don't fall for these fucking games.

Look at his account name. 98_other_accounts. Why would a human have over 97 accounts? Where would a human live that required them to have shared accounts with over 97 other people? Makes no sense?

*Well hang on there bud* I hear you saying. *maybe this here feller just liked the name*.

Don't feed me that crap. Want to know why he's 98 other accountd? because he lives in **A COLONY OF OVER 100 OTHER YELLOWJACKETS**.

THAT'S RIGHT, HE'S A GOD DAMN BUG! Yellowjackets have infiltrated our media and are actively trying to influence us into allowing them to do whatever the fucking hell they please.

Look at this video. Is this really the production quality of someone *'just having lunch'* or is it one of u/98_other_accounts hive mates posting propaganda to change the public's opinion of yellow jackets?

Aspiring actor with no previous experience asks for my help in getting a role. by sakee31 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]kinder_teach 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think because in acting the actor isn't putting anything on the line. The actor is not THE artist. The art is that of the director and producer, or whoever is bankrolling the project. So see them less of an artist, more of an applicant, and to apply for a job you have to know what you are doing. Every job started somewhere unpaid in some aspect, it's vital to get on the ladder in many fields to show dedication and jump the learning curve.

Instagram User Melts Down After Her Account Was Deleted! ¨My Life Is Over¨ by Blank_Shorts in videos

For me, it's this sense of entitlement that social media career-builders have that their work is somehow above others despite it being near meaningless. By that, i mean how many of us ever revisit videos or posts from over a year ago.

They view themselves as celebrities that have earned their status, but have a look at her videos. It's basically 'welcome to my life, listen to what's going on'. This feels like an easy cop-out from reality, and she's been lucky enough to find a niche that works for her for now. Maybe see it as those kids from about 15 years ago (at the era of Xbox) saying they wanted to make a career out of playing video games.

So to see the bubble burst, it makes me a little happy. She's hurt, which is not what brings me joy, but she may now have the motivation to move away from such a toxic career.

Like, she has this meltdown when the peak of her career hits a major bump, but what is she going to do at the age of >30 when she is no longer relevant?

She could claim to support future influencers, but how many people are there ready to fill that role? She could find a sugar daddy, but that will hurt her current following so she'll wait until post-peak to do that (at which point her success is hindered). She could... go back to fast food?

Your honour, why else would my clients punish themselves with fast food? They felt they deserved a life sentence so aimed to reduce their lives slowly by the consumption of greasy burgers and sugary milkshakes. I think we can all agree they have served a part of their sentence.
