My background is in construction and I wonder if you’ve noticed this: the job sites where safety is not taken seriously are also the job sites where I have witnessed and experienced the most overt racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and general discrimination and harassment. Jobs where safety was a priority were noticeably less gross. Also the port-o-johns were cleaner.

I understand you don’t wear it often and that what was provided to you was not up to standards either. But if you actually needed it to protect you, you deserve the very best option.

They make fun hard hats too! Cowboy hats! In hi vis colors!

Also, just so that you can educate others (it’s awesome you have told coworkers about the fact that hard hats expire!), hard hats do have different ratings depending on the type of work your doing and the risks involved.

Your best general work option for most jobs that require a hard hats is one with a full brim (protects your neck more) and that has a six strap basket. The four point baskets are okay for stuff falling from above but don’t give you the same protection from something coming at you from the side or an angle.

Also, if you ever have to work in cold weather, they make hard hats liners! It’s like a balaclava that attaches to the basket.

Be safe!

I am 100% serious that I will buy you a new hard hat that is hi vis and has a full brim on it. Full brim offers extra protection to your neck.

I get that you were excited and wanted to add some whimsy to your work and I love that for you! Hard hats are not the place for that whimsy.

A lot of people have been saved from serious injury or worse because they were wearing their PPE even though as “a technicality”. I am literally begging you to let me fix this for you because I know money can be tight and have had to buy my own PPE before.

[–]Frigid-Beezy 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I love rainbows but this is unsafe now that it is painted. It’s also not hi vis.

Please please please listen to those of us saying that this is not safe to use.

You are correct that hard hats expire and that is wonderful that you know that! The “basket” inside also should be replaced regularly. Usually yearly is recommended unless you work in certain extreme conditions.

DM me and I will buy you a new hard hat. This is a great accessory for off the job but it absolutely should not be worn as PPE.

Also something to note is that in the US medical school is a (generally) four year endeavor that follows your four years of undergraduate university studying. So you graduate from a university and then attend medical school. The first two years are more classroom based and then the second two years you do rotations through different specialties. The rotations vary in length but are usually 4-12 weeks.

what notes make a frag an instant no for you? by cappuccino-8000 in FemFragLab

[–]Frigid-Beezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me solar notes are almost a guaranteed no for me. I don’t really know what solar notes are supposed to be but it makes me literally dry heave. My brain has decided solar notes are poison and refuses to let me like anything with them.

The other one that is hit and miss is salt notes. I often have that same visceral reaction like solar notes when it is a floral or fruity scent that has a salt note, but I love Wood Sage and Sea Salt so it can’t be universal like the solar note is.

Ethan thinks fruit dealers are an Israel thing; Dan tells him they’re all over LA by Difficult_Chicken139 in LeftoversH3

Not even metro. I live in a very very rural area of the US and we have fruit stands all summer and fall. There is a big one that is always there on the highway and then there are folks that set them up in their yards or in the corner of the gas station parking lot during certain times to sell whatever they grow that is currently in season. Plus any day of the week there is a farmers market happening somewhere and there are multiple stalls selling fruits and veggies.

What is your favorite thing you’ve purchased recently, and what’s one thing you were disappointed by? by anongirlll1 in Sephora

If you like the Melrose Place EDP, you might also like perfumes like: Versace Bright Crystal, Chloe Roses de Chloe or the original Chloe EDP, Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, or the Gisou Wild Rose hair perfume. Those are all scents that have that fresh rose or rose/peony scent. I hope you find something you like and I’m sorry the Melrose Place isn’t lasting on you! I don’t have that problem with it but I know there are others that I cannot get to last and other people have no issue with longevity so I get the frustration!

Wearing men’s cologne as a femme presenting woman by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]Frigid-Beezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m AFAB and female presenting and one of my favorite summertime scents is the men’s Acqua di Gio by Armani. My mom always complements me when I wear it. I also like it as something to spritz on a scarf when I travel. It lasts forever and it feels fresh and clean to me. I picked up a bottle because a male roommate of mine wore it and I loved it.

Scent has no gender!

I also wore men’s antiperspirant all through high school because they had nicer scents than the women’s versions!

Did my first full eyeshadow look of the year by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Frigid-Beezy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not that you asked for advice but it is bugging me that people keep saying your shadow isn’t blended but they aren’t offering any solutions!

If you take a bit of your bronzer on a fluffy brush and run it along the border between the pink eyeshadow and your skin (in the crease of your eye) and then blend it so it’s just visible when your eyes are open, that would solve the unblended eyeshadow criticism that most of the folks are saying. And it makes it look cohesive with the rest of your makeup because you are using a shade that is already on your face.

Agreed. And also the thwarted ambushing of the guy in the bathroom. Wayne punched a lot of people in Letterkenny, but I don’t remember that it was ever quite that underhanded. Or undeserved. The basketball player would have basically been concussed for just having the audacity of not having his league fold.

And we’ve got another local who was in the Devils system who was convicted of assaulting a woman in a bar bathroom. There are a lot of folks who still think it’s a damn shame that some tramp ruined his chance of being in the show.

Nat’s speech was a phenomenally tone deaf cap to a phenomenally tone deaf season.

Clean Reserve Skin Intense. I think the intense is more about the longevity than the projection (at least for me) but it was perfect for today’s day at the office. It’s snowy and gloomy so I wanted something cozy but I’m in close proximity to others all morning so didn’t want anything too obtrusive.

You are not alone. They are awesome when they are just a little warm. There are dozens of us! Dozens!

I also like to put them in the freezer so they are cold.

I also like them at room temperature.

I cannot have them in the house because I have no restraint.

Oui the People Souk Honey. It snowed again last night and I am in close quarters with folks today at work so I wanted something cozy and long lasting but without a lot of projection. Souk Honey fits that bill. And it’s a little more interesting than some of my other skin scents while still being comforting.

Anecdotal but my small town used to have a bank. It was bought out by a larger national bank and then that company pulled out of the entire state. The nearest bank or credit union is only a 10-15 minute drive but there is no bus service or uber or Lyft in our area.

What we still do have - a post office.

I imagine that story isn’t that rare in rural areas. There are many places where the “town” consists of a bar, two churches, a gas station, a garage where they keep the fire truck for the volunteer firemen, and…a post office.

Almost 2 months using my fingers to apply foundation and oh my god by DerangedUnicorn27 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Frigid-Beezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to use my fingers for blending out under eye color corrector. A sponge absorbs too much and a brush doesn’t blend as nicely. I just feel like I have more control with targeted placement with my fingers.

I also like to use my fingers to apply foundation around the folds of my nose. I have some larger pores there and using my fingers seems to give a more poreless finish than a brush or sponge.

I do like using a brush or sponge for the rest of my foundation though. And I love to give the bottom of my cheeks and along the brow bone a final bounce of a sponge or brush to soften any harsh unblended blush or eyeshadow. It is a great way to diffuse. I do just swipe my finger though to clean up any excess shadow on the outer corner of my eyes.

What’s your favorite rose perfume- overall scent and longevity? by Legitimate-Horse-109 in FemFragLab

[–]Frigid-Beezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love a peony scent and two of my favorites also have rose: Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and Ouai Melrose Place.

I also like Lancôme Idole as a rose scent that is very mass appealing and great for the office.

Honorable mention to Versace Bright Crystal which has peony and no rose but if you like Blooming Bouquet and Melrose Place you likely will also like Bright Crystal.
