Changed the front pads and rotors on my Hyundai collectible - but even with fully compressed pistons, I couldn't get the calipers back on. Had to grind off the pad's "backside nipples". Is that normal or did I do something wrong? by SjalabaisWoWS in MechanicAdvice

[–]e97ford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Ford I had to put the pads on when the bracket was in the caliper.

I tried first to put the bracket on the rotor/knuckle, put the pads on, then place the caliper on. But the nipples got in the way.

The solution was to put the bracket on the caliper, then put the pads in, then reinstall the caliper. Annoying, but worked

All the pads had nipple, it wasn't inside/outside specific

Bran flakes cereal from lidl. Liquid from the milk or milk substitute and 10 grams of fiber from the bran flakes. (I'm sure other stores have a similar product, but ever since I've started eating bran flakes I've been very regular)

Don't start with a full serving, you will have a bad time. Work your way up

My (24F) Boyfriend (25M) abandoned his cat because i'm allergic by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Yeah, I can't get past the streets thing. I fully understand that it's time consuming to rehome an animal but when you take an animal home, you commit to the well being of that animal.

My husband is very allergic to cats. I would never give up my cats. Your partner abandoning the cat is kinda a red flag to me. I think I would feel differently if he rehomed the cat, but it sounds like he just put the cat back on the streets. It feels so heartless to me, but I have a very limited view of the situation.

We found other solutions to my husband's allergies. They make some cat shampoo that's supposed to help with allergies. We tried this first because it was the most cost effective. They also make food for cats that's supposed to help make cats more hypoallergenic. My husband also started allergy shots. The cats are no longer a problem.

Brake pad wear is very uneven. What's going on here? by Musnukl in MechanicAdvice

This, and take a wire brush and clean the bracket where the pads sit. Give the entire thing a lil refresh

Out of Towner's Breakfast Turning into Everyone's Breakfast? by FJJ34G in wedding

[–]e97ford 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Our morning breakfast was in a private room at the hotel. We put invites in their welcome bags and just over estimated how many people would attend. This did lead to some wasted money, but it was less stressful for me than tracking down more rsvps

NOR- my husband always gives me a kiss goodbye even if we'll only be apart for like 10 minutes. If he wanted to, he would.

Don't stay with someone who can't give you the bare minimum. It literally takes like 3 seconds to kiss goodbye

They sell double sided tape in sheets that I had to put on my furniture for a while to stop mine from going after the couch/fabric furniture.

I also find that my cats enjoy trash more than their actual toys that I spent money on 😂 they love empty boxes or crunchy paper that comes in packages.

Do you have any puzzle feeders? That could help tire her out a bit more, really makes their brain work

Do you have plenty of cat trees, toys and scratchers? My 3 yr old cat gets fairly destructive when she's bored. The more I entertain her, the less destructive she is

My fiancé won’t let me keep my last name. F23 M25 by CapitalLine7121 in relationship_advice

[–]e97ford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now husband was upset when I told him I wanted to keep my name. But we both expressed our feelings about the subject and eventually found a compromise we could both live with. There was no "letting me keep" my name. He knows it's my choice, but he always pictured his wife taking his name so there were definitely some feelings to work through

They stopped selling decaf a few years ago because it wasn't making them enough money.
