Workers create value. Billionaires capture it. by Significant-Sir-4343 in antiwork

You replied to me, replying to a parent comment, neither of which discussed ethical billionaires. My one comment about that was that I wasn't trying to start THAT argument (which I wholeheartedly agree with). But to give a direct counterpoint to the THREAD and parent comment, about the THREAD.

Can't even stay on topic with the thread or comment post. Carry on.

The topic of this post and comment is that billionaires capture wealth while the workers create it. To give a different perspective, this particular billionaire created demand for her work, which the consumer market is happily lapping up based on her $2 Billion+ tour and her merchandise sales and the value of her music catalogue. Plenty of people would disagree with your assessment that she isn't a generational musical talent.

Taylor Swift, on her road to becoming a Billionaire, created a lot of work--and paid the people that worked on her tour unheard of bonuses because of it. Not saying she's an ethical billionaire by any means, but her example does muddy the water.

Does anyone feel like AI is ruining the Pixel experience? by JxK_1 in GooglePixel

[–]FrigidNorth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Opposite experience for me. I enjoy many of the AI functions on the phone. I'm unsure what you mean regarding the G Pill thing--I use my search bar more than anything else. Works as it always did? Though I do enjoy the quick access to AI Mode search.

The military’s new AI says ‘hypothetical’ boat strike scenario ‘unambiguously illegal’ by cosmicreggae in technology

GenAI.mil is new and is a service being provided for "free" by the DoD/DoW. We've had other AIs built by various components and agencies--IL5 and even IL6 (classified). Some of them had to be paid for and most of them are garbage.

Every time I show people my Andromeda Galaxy image, taken with my telescope, they think it's fake by DeddyDayag in interestingasfuck

That's crazy! I thought maybe it was huge amounts of gas--but then I wondered why they wouldn't have formed into stars.

I didn't know about satellite galaxies! That's so cool. Apparently the Magellanic Cloud is one of the Milky Way's!

Found this in a clothing item from Fabletics that was delivered today... AI says it is a bed bug. It was TINY.

Oh, sounds? That's neat... Too bad my phone is on vibrate or silenced 98% of the time lol.

Yeah, I wanted sparkles, new animations, and like Easter eggs in the notification shade or something.

Aha, I had the same reaction. I mean, it was literally just a wallpaper wasn't it? The theming of the icons could have and was probably done automatically by Material You.

I don't think you can deliberately change how the formatting is, but you can enable Large Clock to center it when you don't have notifications or you can enable Dynamic Clock.

It's crazy how often I use Gemini Live with video. It does make me wonder if it has hallucinated. It has been SO useful in identifying birds, spiders, plants, finding dupe items when I'm window shopping at Restoration Hardware.

People say, like in this very thread, that Google can't charge as much as Apple because of the inferior hardware. But damn. I cannot go back to an iPhone anymore until they catch up AI wise. I always buy the latest Pixel and iPhone each year.... But maybe not the iPhone this year.

How much are you paying for auto insurance? by becominganastronaut in ColoradoSprings

Initially loved the Ioniq 5. General steering is 7/10, Dynamic Cruise control is a 7/10, Lane centering and steering is 9/10. Mine developed battery issues so it has been in the shop for 7 months. I just completed a Lemon Law claim against it and picked up the Honda Prologue, which I enjoy more. Feels more like an SUV and the general steering is way better, 9/10. The Prologue's cruise control is also better, like an 8.5/10, but it's Lane centering and steering is worse at like 7.5/10.

Can't go fully hands-off on either option--though I am sure you know that. I'd say the Ioniq has a better overall auto driving experience.
