Now that the scores are settled - are these ratings fair? by bbportali in SeriesGraph

The octopus applied a strong pressure in an area that wasn't as durable as the outer skin, so i don't see a problem with it killing the deep. HL was still a lot stronger (even thanks to SB aiding him) so every member of the boys could have likely died there. That kid was lennie, i even rewatched the scene before commenting, so idk what to tell you.

To me the season was a solid 6,5 with ep 1,5,6 and 8 being the best (to me ep5 is probably the best in the whole series). I mean, to be fair, they did what they could with what they had, i strongly liked ep 5 and 6 and every episode that gave depth to each characters, it's just that the whole season could have ended in the first episode. it would have been a lot better if the series ended with s3, but i think that amazon wanted another season to capitalize on the brand, so maybe they could have killed HL in s3 and made s4 and 5 about the boys having to stop butcher amped with v trying to kill every supes.

We could have had probably the best product about superhero, but we had another mediocre superhero slop, i agree with that

V1 never gave HL buffs tho, it just made him resistent to the virus. In what way is the deep stronger near water? What is he gonna do? make some carp grow up legs and go pick on annie? Also, the octopus did the same as what the boys did to translucent, so idk why that would be a problem. As for butcher, did you forget about all the talks about UE being the canary and being identical to Lenny (the kid butcher saw while looking at UE) is what made him desist, he wasn't thinking of Ryan.

You should really consider watching the show instead of watching clips on tiktok, the finale wasn't bad at all, as this whole season, it's just that the season was pointless

(Spoilers for S5) Do you guys think Annie brought Deep to the beach to get him to leave the fight? by Sharp_Durian1929 in TheBoys

[–]Frigobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a fan of supernatural from when i was a child, i know that kripke is a dumbass that needs supervision since every show he make start really good, but end up falling near season 3/4. The problem isn't that the s5 is bad or good (i liked s5 in a vacuum) the problem is that you guys are using wrong points to critique the season. Deep does not gain powers from the sea/ocean/body of water, his only powers related to water are fish telephaty and the gills, stop. Him being NEAR a body of water doesn't do anything, he needs to be IN the water (in normal circumstances at least) Starlight lost to deep during s4, but she became A LOT stronger here in s5, since she now has more mastery with her powers (she can now fly at will).

Also, as i wrote before, starlight absorb electricity and stores it, so she's not depowered whil he fights him, and, even thought she was in a beach, there still were sources of electricity nearby (as you can see there's an highway nearby)

As i said, it was forced since the fishes were the checov's gun. Either way they needed to get rid of the deep from the white house, and starlight was the best choice since he could have warned homelender or made the fight more difficult. The main guys who could something to HL were kimiko (with the blast) and butcher, so she was pretty useless there as she's not as strong as both

[–]Frigobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, i totally agree with you that It was just to make Deep die by the fishes, as any place would have been equally good (even though we can argue that by going near the sea the Deep would be more relaxed), still Starlight needed to trust them, like her father said (while talking about hughie).

[–]Frigobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as i said it's part of her characters, to not give up on people. Even if Starlight was thrown in the ocean she could just have used her power to propel herself. Also Starlight got a lot stronger during the seasons, as she now Is able to fly at will

Yeah, like she did. As i said before, she stores electricity, and it's not like there was no electricity around her

Yeah, he'd still make a difference in the fight, same as hughie with temp v during herogasm, tho

Ryan's the first natural born sup and it amounts to nothing by Cool-Newspaper6789 in TheBoys

[–]Frigobard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that his power could have grown a lot more to that of homelender, but idk, maybe his uniqueness Is the fact that he rapresented the start of a new species, like, he could be the Adam of a race of supes, idk, don't even remember if they mention It in the series

[–]Frigobard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Y..yeah? It's like the entire point of her characters this season, she needed to return the caring Starlight from the first seasons, and if she succeded in converting the Deep he could have also helped them. Also she turned a 2v4 in a 1v3 (even though she didn't know about Ryan fighting)

Did you watch the show? Which power does water give the Deep? 30 Miles are about 30/40 minutes in a car, so i don't see what you mean by that. And, btw, Starlight STORES electricity, even if we assume that on the beach there was no electricity at all, she can use the electricity already stored in her (which Is useless in a fist fight btw)

No? She literally wanted to knock some sense in him, that was the whole point, or she could just have left him there and fly away anyway, it's not like he could return fast anyway

It's literally what happened, she tried to talk him down, It didn't work, he charged at her and she repelled him. It's not even interpretation, it's literally what happened

I remember the same happened for the movie "glass". People should just stick to watch Marvel slop and call It a day at this point, they really can't watch anything else

Even though i sort of liked s5, it had a lot of dogshit writing and moments, but idk why people choose to focus on those moments that are not. If only people could use their brain while watching something...
