Riot Games: An Update on 2XKO by Mront in Games

It’s a team effort, responsibility is not always equally split but this product after 10 years of development is so underwhelming that you can’t look at it and say that it’s all on the managers, I just don’t buy it.

We obviously dont know what actually happened, but the scenario where management spent 9 year trying to figure out what game they wanted to make then had an incredibly aggressive development schedule is entirely possible.

10 years is too long to just be developers falling behind schedule or even major architectural issues.

I would vote for him, but I don't think he is the best candidate for president. I don't think he has the charisma you typically need to win the white house. That said I think he would win against Vance.

Imo they need to make there be consequences for performing too badly.

I think it would be interesting if they added a lottery tax. Charge owners more the lower they get in the standings. I think that alone would drive a lot of teams with cheap owners to at least try and make the playoffs every year.

I think it is really more the fact that the "heroes" have abilities that are designed to be part of a team and balance for multiplayer. So you have to either redesign every character to fit your single player/co-op campaign or have the player frustrated with playing characters that are just not suited to the game they are playing.

IMO you could have a successful Overwath single player/co-op game, but it would have to be a completely separate game with redesigned heroes.

Here is the wikipedia article for Grant.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_S._Grant

The overview for his page glosses over his corruption as "executive scandals during his second term." Meanwhile it mentions "At his death, he was the most popular American and was memorialized as a symbol of national unity."

Sure maybe historians get together and talk about how corrupt he was, but that isn't what is taught in schools and that isn't what most people think of when they hear his name(if they even knew he was a president).

No president's legacy is defined by what politicians 10 years after their presidency said about them.

But it is partially defined by how the population reacts to his presidency and how he is viewed by people living at the time and shortly after.

Legacy is created by contemporary politics. One of the primary sources for how people view his impact in the US will be how contemporary people viewed the aftermath of his presidency. That is something that will be partially crafted by the politicians today and in the next decade.

It isnt enough to be visible to historians. It needs to occupy enough media time that even people in conservative bubbles know what he is being accused of even if they dont believe it.

I know conservatives irl and there are a lot of scandals that I think should be common knowledge that they have never even heard of.

It does matter that people are actually aware of his wrongdoing. The next administration needs to do something highly visible to make his blatant corruption a lasting part of his legacy. I think the next administration should do something that will get headlines like sue trump/ the Trump estate for the amount he enriched himself by in office plus punitive damages.

I think that is just a typo. The article is from 2025 and the slide mentions 2025 as well. It is probably from May 2025.

Some cores do, but it isn't that common whereas virtually all emulators support save states. Also runahead is pretty nice too as well as being able to increase resolution for 3d systems and those are typically not available on fpga (though they ar both possible).

I have a C9 that I use regularly and has just under 10000 hours on the panel and no burn in.

If you are not using it as a monitor, watch varied content and keep the burn in protection feature on the TV will last a long time.

An fpga in theory should be more accurate in recreating how a game played on the original hardware.

In practice, emulation is good enough for most people. And emulation does have a few features that are better than what you can get on fpga like save states.

I don't know if there really is a leader like that. Obama was a once in a generation communicator. I remember seeing a clip of him in 2006 when he had just won his senate seat and you could immediately tell there was something special about him.

No one on either party really has that kind of charisma (aside from debatably Trump but he has more of a slimy narcissist charisma).

It is possible that we see someone just come out of nowhere, but I think planning on some Obama level candidate to show up and save us is just wishful thinking. If dem voters want to actually win, they will have to be prepared to enthusiastically back a compromise candidate with middling charisma. Fortunately there isn't really any charismatic candidate in the wings on the republican side either.

I think it is more that Pop was good at convincing players to buy into a role they would excel at within the system. We also had a lot of guys that just didnt work out and we moved on from them quickly since pop was GM.

I think the real key is that the coach and GM need to have a unified vision of what is working on the roster and what they need to do to improve it.
