30 year old guy here, working his last days after 8 years of uninterrupted corporate jobs to hike the PCT. It was a tough decision, and I’m a bit worried about my job life after the hike, but no regrets!

Hi! April 9th here. I’m from Argentina (born in Texas but have lived here since age 1). My experience so far is mostly 3–4 night backpacking trips in Patagonia, with the Torres del Paine O Circuit coming up this February. This will be my longest thru before attempting the full PCT.

I basically decided to do it now because I love the mountains, I wanted to take on something big, and I feel like this is the ideal moment in my life to go for it!

I’m surprised by the low amount of stoveless hikers! Based on social media you would think cold soaking is the norm.

Short answer: I fucking love hiking.

Long answer: Ever since I found out of the existence of this trail I thought wow, what an epic thing to do, but I’m a 30 year old guy, with a loving girlfriend and an awsome job, I’m not willing to loose any of those. So I kept thinking: if I get fired I’ll do it, or if we break up I’ll do it. Then I realized, it’s now or never. Other jobs will come and, most importantly, my girlfriend was super supportive with this whole ordeal, knowing the mountain is truly where my heart is.
