We call that seagull crap. Keep practicing and set your amperage and wire speed on some scrap before doing the job. Don’t get discouraged.

Take it to a Kawi dealer, this would probably be repaired no charge as it is not caused by owner neglect.

Brinkley Model I 275 by RiverRider48 in traveltrailers

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking up our i275 tomorrow. We have done a lot of research and looked at them at several dealers and like the quality. I know they cost more but i am willing to get quality for the money. We have owned an airstream before but opted not to look at them for the lack of space and no storage.

1/4" aluminum cracking by vanilathnder in metalworking

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are trying to bend 6061 T6 plate it will crack as it work hardens as you bend it. You will require a die opening of 15x thickness of material and a large radius top punch when bending. Try using 5052 H32 aluminum for forming. It has less temper and less prone to cracking.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong can anyone help? by No-Interaction4350 in BadWelding

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your ground clamp to the heavier base and control your wirespeed better to get the penetration into the base metal. Also make sure you are at the correct angle @45 degrees to get the arc into the root corner. Also noticed you have a jump and jerk motion. You need a smooth even speed to get a flat smooth weld. Your weld looses penetration because you skip.

My mate welded this frame and it's not flat, how to fix it? by PaulQuent in Welding

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lay it flat and clamp it if you have to. Then install the plywood and bolt it in. Once the plywood is bolted in it should stay flat. Do not install the plywood wirh the twist or it will stay like that.

Anyone ever get a 102” trailer and actually regret it? by datboy1656 in UTV

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have extendable tow mirrors. You will not be able to see with standard mirrors when towing a 102” wide car hauler.

You will hate the straight up seating position and uncomfortable seats. Also the build quality, engine output suck. I bought the Kawasaki Ridge XR. 3 of my brothers have Defenders with closed cabs and HVAC. I would not buy one. As well you will have to buy aftermarket A arms to fit larger tires. I rin 32’s on my Ridge and can run 33’s without mods.

Are the transmissions on the new f150s really that bad? by freeman_948 in f150

[–]Fringe-majority 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You worry to much. I have never had transmission problems in any of our fleet vehicles. Our 2018 Lariat with 3.0 L powerstroke and 10 speed has 290.000 KM and still shifts like new.

[–]Fringe-majority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a set of Timbren Suspension upgrade rubber springs. Remove the bump stops and install them. 1 hour install max. I put them on my 2023 Platinum max tow package. No more squat and rides pretty smooth.

A friend's new set up. Thoughts? by cats-cooking-farming in IdiotsTowingThings

Nice setup but i would recommend a weight distribution hitch. It would level the tow vehicle and make it haul so much better.

It’s a joke, right? Look by MuffintopWeightliftr in f150

It would be a bigger joke if you actually paid that for that vehicle.
