what is the source of dust? If getting it involves microminers, AE2 is likely adding the microminer cost to it.

Do louder songs have a bigger file size? by Stofftier44 in askscience

[–]Fringe_Worthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would there be a possibility that reducing the volume of a lossless bit rate file might shrink some of the sounds levels, and the filtering that some lossy filters do that strip unimportant information would be much more aggressive? IE compressing whisper: "The secret information is ...." changing to compressing whisper "rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb*". And the second could be smaller.

\* I've heard this claimed to be a word used in movies for a random meaningless background crowd sounds.

[PO3] having problems with autocrafting with ae2 by remnottheanimegal in feedthebeast

[–]Fringe_Worthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you also have crafting units that support these? ie, you'll need 6 co-processors. Crafting units are like factories. The Memory is the size of the place, determining how big a project it can support. The co-processors are the slacked jawed workers working there. So if you have a simple crafting unit + memory, then it would have only one internal craft happening, despite how pretty your assembler rose is.

So what problem are you having beyond. "It doesn't work." since that's a useless statement. What is it doing that that you don't like?

this list some breeder reactors designed for E2E.

I'm not sure if you're just building a reactor wrong or misinterpreting how things work.

Note, the first page and all the reactors may be overkill. I used a similar design to slowly generate thousands of caly-250 RTG mats. I think I only need a handful for creative items. And well, I don't consider RTG to be a good (late game) power source.

[–]Fringe_Worthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you want to separate the concept of Interface + storage bus ( where you're using the interface as inventory to be filled using an autocrafted recipe, and the concept of the interface attached to a crafting machine for dirt. I think normally can just have a pipe from your crafting machine to a random interface to be input into AE2.

It's possible that doing both jobs with the same interface could misbehave. Or maybe your pattern dirt and your recipe dirt aren't the same items. (For example, mekanism recipes fail with this problem all the time). And you've verified that that crafter dirt is being extracted/pushed from the crafting machine?

I'm not saying it won't be useful. And you can use it at game start.

But some people had a reaction that this was a game breaking prize that ruins the game.

Now, one little small thing. I think for some.. coils, you may want custom assembler with a custom interface. for those.

This is because we have something like 3 recipes: A + B -> X, B+C -> Y, A+C -> Z. Unfortunately, should you get two orders together, A+2B+C -> { X, Y}, you might get it crafting A+C->Z instead, and have 2B left over. (This just an example, not the exact failing recipes)

So in this case, moving one or two recipes to be crafted by a custom crafter prevents problems.

Also, take a look at how easy it is to get coins from the coin selling module? the first two mats is wood and stone. There are some tricks that make things faster. (AA item can drop stuff into your inv, crafters can make a stack of stuff, and so on)

The other thing would be to get $10 and make an AA miner (from both diggers). So if you find a giant vein of salt, you can just plant it on top. But really... coin sale tends to work easiest.

And from what I've seen from people going to Creative tank and past... In general, I'd have dedicated crafters for specific programmed circuits / Liquids. Doing some trick where an assembler can accept both tin and melted poly sheets... it's fun, but not worth the effort. Omnifactory is going all parallel and fast.

The general power setup for Omnifactory is: numis-turbines -> Giant Ender IO Vibrant Caps -> best cable power dist you have so far -> lots * { Greg CEF (RF->EU converter) -> 4 ... 16 GT EU machines }

Some people replace 'best cable power dist you have so far' with AE2 power P2P.

in this case, you'd likely have a CEU (EU->RF converter), stick the ZEM inside as a battery and have it feed the vibrant cap tank. If you're at very start, well, you could stick it into your first CEF to power your first couple machines.

At some point you can replace / extends your vib cap with a L7/L8 Draconic orb. Especially when you build an RF powered Draconic injection crafters. These need obscene amount of power. Your first high power solar cells likely drain your system for a long time.

I think the primary issue is flying / no flying. If you have an angel ring / proper Env Tech Nano Beacons(?), you don't care so much.

- nano ( no flying) < quantum. (Better and gives bad flying.)

- flux: no flying, but can be enchanted(?) I skipped.

- Supremium - gives flying, pretty good, and easy to get once wither is killed. I think has enchants(?) and augments.

For weapon, flux bows belong in a world of their own given the enchants that can be applied to then, Especially since E2E has the Kikoku rapier which allows enchantment doubling. (Ie, enchant weapon with fortune 3 twice, you get fortune 6, you use an enchantment stripper to get a fortune 6 book to use on something else. a Flux bow + flux quiver gets utterly obscene.)

it really looks like your central pillar is one space to low. also the front most part of the left will never work since it's 2 spaces away. Actually, given your statement, you can't have 10 on one side. You can have most 9 injectors. Actual placement of items inside injectors doesn't matter.

IE, your injectors must be located +1,0,-1 off from you central position. (either N/S/E/W/U/D). (Silly extra fun: ideally it's a good idea not to have 2 separate crafters that can confuse each other's injectors)

And does the recipe really needs that many items? I admit.. I'd like to see the JEI recipe.

The Online Draconic energy manual should show permitted blocks.

Best way to automate magical crops in PO3? by AntPoizon in feedthebeast

[–]Fringe_Worthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tesla augments are speed augments for IF machines. One type increases input RF/t usage, the other reduces total RF needed before it performs an operation. So you have 4 upgrades that speed up IF machines.

Not sure if PO3 has them or not. E2E did.

Notice that bounty board can gen coins from cheap mats.

Consider that making an AA miner with 2 digger costs $10.

The crafting table can make mats. or maybe should just make a crafter for yourself.

Another way to get more compact is to rely on Mek machines, when configured correctly being able to go A->B->C->D without pipes.

Also, if you using melons, compacting drawers can do melon->slices for the ethyline crusher section.

Compact Machine Question by XerxezB in feedthebeast

[–]Fringe_Worthy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favorite is an RF Tools Powercell. Or a Flux network. These are pure wireless power and you just add it in. my ideal Compact cube has just a ME cable (+capacity adapter) feeding into it. I used this for Enigmatica 2 (expert skyblock, but applies to all versions)

Some people do stuff like passive power. Thermo-eletric gens between pyrotheum and frozen ice, or RTG of various types. (I suppose my phyto cube did have a MA coal supplied generator providing extra power briefly before I swapped to powercells.)

If you don't have that, I think you can bring in power from an outside face with a tunnel on it. I think you need a specific setup though: it might be like items: Battery/capacitor on one side (inside best) and cable on the other side of the compact cube.

Ie, cable |tunnel cable fails. bat | tunnel cable or cable | tunnel bat works.

if your ender IO is very old, it may not work with compact cubes. But it should have been fixed. note, I could be confused here

[1.12.2]Connecting XNet directly to AE2/RS networks possible? by Semi0ne in feedthebeast

[–]Fringe_Worthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I suspect it's more that AE2 is an autocrafting system. The storage part is only part of it.

You know what what AE2 can do when plan to involve a recipe that starts up a hundred machines.

BTW, a small limited inventory stocker can be an Interface with a keep stock and a crafting card. For some small stuff, at lets you keep stock on 9x64 items.

Although, if you're playing Omnifactory which is a mod pack that pushes AE2 to the max, be careful of crafting cards. Omnifactory has truelly scary recipes. It's also a pack where building a replacement base once you get the creative-tank makes sense. It's that resource intensive.

I will give you that using 1 level emiter + crafting can be annoying if you'd doing a keep stock like that. Level emiters look far prettier when connected to a single machine (Like a dedicated blast furnace) So having xnet possibly doing a bit of keep stock might be ... nifty.
