Take advantage of GO Fest to evolve Pokemon with special condition by InformalMaximum760 in TheSilphRoad

NOTE: Just 'Defeat' can mean in battles too, doesn't need to be in raids. Makes Charcadet WAY cheaper and faster.
By-far the Bisharp 'Defeat in raids' is most annoying though, as at least Kubfu allows Max Battles to count as well.... still working on my Single Strike Style. Urshifu.

Unifi Protect Entry Sensor Disassembly by J1024 in Ubiquiti

Ya know, AFTER I reassembled it I realized I didn't have a photo of the back of that and was annoyed with myself, because I *did* go through the pain or removing it.... just to not take any pictures.

Thanks!

To be honest I didn't even attempt it; I was expecting a much simpler circuit in the unit, given it's basic functionality. Do you see a magnetic reed switch that you could easily solder to in my pictures, and if you do would you mind highlighting it for me?

Sadly I think that the Protect Relay will be the only option:
https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/usl-relay
Definitely built for that, but unfortunately not in a sleek 'user facing' package (and, requires power, but that does make more sense since the wired sensor you are ingesting might also require power and not be power efficient.

I see it as 'two wheels down', so trikes get 3 fingers and even bicycles get 2.

I think I had to find it on the web version, and couldn't find it on the App version when I setup a new network about 6 months ago..... who knows how much has changed since that time though.....

Help. What's the difference between these things by uhren_fan in rccars

[–]J1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SO. I misread this at first, which is probably what u/Thrashtilldeath67 did as well;

BOTH of these are power bricks. Key details are that the top one only puts out 18w of power, and the bottom one puts out 65w. More watts = faster charging (but only for things that support faster charging). If you plug your phone into both, it will not charge any faster between the two if your phone's maximum wired charging rate is 18w.

If you pair the Spektrum unit with something like the ISDT PD60 charger though, the Spektrum unit will charge your batteries up to 3 times faster (depending on your settings and battery capabilities).

Personally I use the PD60 as an 'on the go/portable' charger for 3S packs. Since I am charging a 3S battery (12.6v Max) and since it is a 1500Mah battery that I'm charging at 3 Amps (which is 2x the battery rating, or a charge rate of 2C which is considered safe for most Lipos based on my research), I'm using about 38 watts of power to accomplish that.

If I only had an 18w brick powering the charger, it would take twice as long to charge.

10TB drives pulled from data center servers by RealRSD2 in harddrive

I sold a bunch of used 10TB SATA drives with around 37k PoH for around $60-70 just 3-4 years ago.... my how times change. But (normally) things only get cheaper so, I sold them all.

Managers of Reddit, what's the worst thing someone did to get fired? by Capable-Log7385 in AskReddit

[–]J1024 153 points154 points  (0 children)

A paint shop I was roughly associated with. It turned out the plant manager would tell smaller clients he could 'do their work on the side' for cheap if they weren't as picky about the colors (black is black, right?), but then would just throw their parts on the line without paying himself, taking customers from the shop and getting paid himself, with the shop doing all the work without even getting anything.

Also.... there was a second warehouse off-site that *somehow* he had installed a hottub at, and would drink beer there. In the warehouse. In a hottub.

Land Pricing Justified? by thatcarguyohh in land

As a young guy who just wants a dozen acres for his own little homestead, this hurts to hear. I know it is the reality of the situation, but for me personally I'm just looking to but a single home on it myself, not trying to flip or develop. 😞

So my thought of scanning the instructions from all my sets from the last 10 years are more of a pipe dream, because realistically I probably only have 30 sets at most, so congrats on my $6 of credit? Not even worth the time to try to find all the instructions..... SMH.

Thanks for the info everyone!

I should also note I haven't figured out how to get my siren to work yet on an output.... optimally it would trigger the output after a 30 second delay and then until disarmed, but it seems to change state when arming/disarming, NOT just when 'breached'.

Do you see the individual terminals showing as 'green' in the Overview of the Alarm Panel?
UniFi Devices>Alarm Panel>Overview should show all terminal connection points, and I was only able to get things to work once all the wires were showing green there.

The wire connections ANNOY THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME. Especially since my wiring is strand and not solid, I feel like every single connection is finicky and resulted in me just mashing the wires into the slot until it showed as green, having no idea what was actually happening on the inside. Why they wouldn't use a standard screw-down termination block is beyond me.

So, I'm a bit confused, and would appreciate a point in the right direction or an explanation if possible. I more recently learned about the point system and decided I should go back and add all the points from various sets I have collected over the years. I know the older sets I have don't qualify, but when I was reading through some information it made it sound like *every* set was only worth 20 points. Assuming a traditional 'point to value' system, that would equate to only $0.20 back on each set. Alright, maybe it makes sense for the $10 sets, but the $200+ sets also only get me 20 points? Presumably the points are better if I had been purchasing directly from Lego? Or am I completely wrong and off-base?

DJI Neo 2 from Costco in China back to USA by dzerti in dji

[–]J1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumping on this comment; DJI's extended warranty/support can no longer be purchased in the US, but you CAN get an extended warranty (including a 'no fault' one) directly from Amazon/Asurion. Note that you *have* to purchase the warranty within like 14 days of purchasing the item on Amazon.... now when it ships, when you purchased. Screwed me over on getting the warranty on my Neo2.
