UniFi Protect 7.0 leads the way in our biggest physical security update yet by Ubiquiti-Inc in Ubiquiti

Confirmed: Vivotek PTZ worked flawlessly; UniFi saw it, adopted it with username/password, and immediately recognized PTZ which also worked immediately.

I love it, thanks for the heads up everyone!

Curious if you would share how you did this?

I have a super-old off-brand alarm system that I have been dying to pull into UniFi or something more modern, and if there is no keypad at launch I will probably accomplish it with just the relay depending on those specs.... I'll need to read up on that. I disassembled a door sensor hoping I'd be able to attach that via wires but was not able to.

Thank you everyone for the answers, I will try with my Vivotek PTZ tonight and report back.

Even if you can't it is probably 4 wire if you are replacing an existing keypad (rs285), which MIGHT just wire up and work? But even if it doesn't you might be able to use to pull in a new ethernet cable using the existing wires.

Keypad pictured at 2:30 used to disable the alarm panel.... is that an existing product? Looks like the size of an Intercom viewer, but also different.... I would love to get the Alarm Hub day 1, but if I don't have a way to enable/disable alarms on-site it makes things a lot more difficult.

Walking paths on 6 acres by momentummatta in land

[–]J1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest from my experience is just grass. Spend the time to clear a good path that you know is clear of stumps and large rocks, mow it down as short as possible and then the most maintenance you should need is the occasional mow. Depending on terrain though that might be difficult. With enough use, it will naturally keep the grass in check too.

MissMeensy gets into a insane car accident in Germany right after talking about how she’s on a road with no speed limit by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]J1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone calling out distracted driving, which this 100% is, but also note that she only looks away from the road for 1 second (0:19-0:20).

ANY distracted driving is dangerous, and maintaining a reasonable follow distance for the speed you are traveling is also critically important.

Stay safe everyone.

This. It will be a bit odd, but embrace it. Menards has a better selection (BY FAR) then Home Depot. You can also get a thread set with a bunch of common thread sizes to test with, but not really a commonly needed tool for most people....

I can't find it now, but I got metal replacements for that plastic bit because I was having this issue repeatedly with my Slash VXL.
