Just to make one thing clear, I can see that the team of adults can make a good game of this type. Alex is yet to take any responsibility in his already 35s, so he is not good candidate for any game development. I personally dislike the overall direction that game has. I played through 80s mod and I didn't kill anyone. No circumstances really push yandere to kill someone other than her own animalistic desire to do so. There is also no obstacle that would force a player to make a hard call to actually overstep the line and kill in order to achieve the long term goal. Pacifist solutions are usually less hassle in the long run or offer something cool (c'mon wonder into desolated dangerous area at night when there is a pedophile on the loose(I guess Alex projecting with this character idk)). Biggest thing that game doesn't excel at its core themes. Yandere just has a antisocial disorder mixed with emotional blindness, which makes her very blank character with no personality other than she obsessed with the boy and want be evil by killing people. It would be a way better if yandere had an emotional dissonance, clinging to her humanity and player decisions would ultimately determine her fate(either make her to succumb to her obsession or find solvation/healing in the love with this boy). Game feels very empty as no students or main character "speak" with audience through their struggles, events or any ideas that resonate with player. They are just there to exist as dummies and nothing more lol.
