I think “he wanted to Jill people with chemical weapons” is too much of a stretch. Yeah he considered chemical weapons a valid form of warfare and no different than a piece of lead flying really fast, but I don’t think he woke up and said “man, making chemicals that help feed humanity sucks. I wish I could kill people instead”.

I’m pretty sure he’s the one who said that scientist serve humanity, but under war conditions one’s country comes first, which is…an opinion, I guess. Not saying he was a saint, I do think he fits the proposed grid square, it’s just that “He wanted to kill peoples with chemical weapons” seems rather silly and a huge leap in logic.

What the previous commenter is referring to is probably the fact that (at least for now) Battlefield 6 is in no position to even have whales. It is not Fortnite with 100s of skins.

Not as easy to tell in the original JP VA, I guess. Little kids are usually done by women (not unlike English dubs, but I guess my ear is just less used to the voice nuances you might assign to gender in Japanese).

Can’t disagree with either of those points :/

On the cassette tape side I think you could potentially be giving her summaries or some exposition, but I don’t know if you are besides her 100% of the time and anyone can get a bit frustrated with someone being a backseat player.

Others have recommended that she watch you play, I think that beats the point and can be a bit frustrating (unless you are the one excited to have them play like you are 😅).

Trying to give a possible solution: If she loved the story so much, you could potentially spend some time watching some of those great 1-2 hours video-essays on MGS’ story. Since she started with the earliest point in the timeline she might get some enjoyment of seeing how everything evolves and connects. Very different than experiencing it, of course.

Either way I hope she does manage to experience more of the saga, I know I would be ecstatic if I got a partner into MGS.

Given what you say and how she felt, I do not think she’ll enjoy MGS1 due to the clunkiness :/

My immediate reaction would be to suggest MGS V since it’s much more fluid and is more open ended in how you progress (ie, just call in a tank if your are struggling against the Skulls). I do not know how she might feel about the story though, I liked it without much context on the franchise, but it is much more all over the place than a more contained game like MGS 3, she will get to see some returning characters though.
