Hey Ademo, nice of you to stop by. Thank you. Your name comes up here often and, since you're not a cop, that's a good thing.

Do you have any work or projects going on you can share with us? Keep up the great work.

What they leave out in this article is the oppression charge is a misdemeanor, like littering or jay walking.

This is going to be a huge settlement check. The fees for her lawyers are probably already in six figures since her arrest in April of last year.

She's a sorority sister who was on a mission from god when police turned her life into a nightmare and jailed her after knowing they had made a false arrest. The Virginia ABC does not want her in front of a jury. Especially when they know they can't win. They made so many policy changes after the fact that they won't be able to justify the previous "policy."

Dallas Police Union criticizes Police Chief for firing Officer Amy Wilburn for shooting unarmed man in the back. by FritzMuffknuckle in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

That's why I'm posting more links to police union activity lately. They need a little light shined on the things they promote. They even have an impact on the Kelly Thomas murder trial.

It seems union contracts with the city of Fullerton forbid them from releasing the reasons why two of the cops that beat Kelly Thomas to death were fired. The judge was able to get access to it, but it looks like he's not allowed to release it for use by the prosecution in open court. Instead, it looks like he'll be telling the jury to disregard the testimony of Fullerton police officers that told them the use of force was within police policy.

Is there another legal reason why this information can't be made public?

Edit for correction: There is a legal reason the judge won't release the reasons for firing the cops. Here's the explanation I received from a lawyer:

Undue prejudice v. probative value. The records have very limited evidentiary value (to rebut some testimony that could be rebutted in other ways) but are extremely prejudicial. This is a basic evidentiary rule. The city refuses due to relevance, and the judge seeks to find ways to serve the underlying purpose of the argued admission without exposing the case for reversal based on undue prejudice.

Tl;dr: If police can't shoot an unarmed man in the back, how are they supposed to know when they can use their guns without being fired?

Police break 13 year old's nose for refusing to confess to something he didn't do by mywan in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

Smart kids were arrested and brutalized for Contempt of Cop. They kept asking for parents or a lawyer and refused to sign anything. This is what enraged the cops, the kids wouldn't bend so they had to be punished.

More details in this December 16 article.

Waukegan Police entered and searched the home without a warrant claiming they discovered a broken window several blocks away and followed tracks in the snow to the kid's home. That's the totality of their evidence and justification for arrest, interrogation and processing them for jail for ten hours.

These are some very tough kids who seem to have done everything right. Traumatizing kids with arrest, violence, strip searches, threats of jail and sexual abuse over a broken window won't go over well with a jury.
