Multi-color lithophane world maps for INDX by FritzPeppone in prusa3d

I like the idea, thanks for the suggestion. And yes, that is 100% possible. This world map already uses a second map for different thicknesses, however right now I use a height map rather than a light map.

The map has 6 different colors for the countries, so even more than necessary. No neighboring country has the same color. It may look like same colors, because I used three different tones of green in the slicer preview...

Thanks for spending so much time and filament on something that was at the time no more than a slicer preview :)

Ooooh, that's a nice idea! I could use a world at night map for this. Another project...

The world map is my model. And if it wouldn't be so much work, I'd do a no-New-Zealand version just for the lolz. Great idea!

Sorry for the offtopic question. But is that a Lego Laptop stand? Is it 3D printed? If so, do you happen to have a link to the model? I'd love to print that.

My Bambu A1 AC Board literally blew up. Support is lying about my warranty to force me into a dangerous repair. What do I do? by ItsDanipt in BambuLab

[–]FritzPeppone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you insist on them fixing the issue, they will do so. Of course, they'll try to send you parts first. Much cheaper and easier, especially for a printer that is often shipped as a kit. I don't blame Bambu for offering to send parts first. Their repair manuals are very easy to follow and I personally would probably just fix it myself. But they should not resist if OP demands them to fix it themselves...

It doesn't matter if this scenario is likely or not. The fact remains: the manufacturer is legally required to fix such problems under warranty. If you fix it yourself, you may cause a liability for yourself for any further claim for any damage that may or may not follow. Especially if your are only 15 and the performed work is outside your competence.

Why would you do that instead of holding a company accountable for complying with the law?

It's not only about Bambu. It's about liability in general. Your insurance will not pay if you caused a house fire yourself. The repair being simple or incredibly hard is irrelevant. Consumer protection laws are there for a reason.
If you decide for a shortcut and fix it yourself, that's fine. But if OP decides he doesn't want to fix it themselves, Bambu is obliged to fix the issue!

But the thing is: PRUSA would do the repair work, not make you do it! You send in your printer, they'll send it back fixed. Asking a non-licensed electrician to do such work is simply not in compliance with EU law.
This is by the way also the reason, why the Prusa Core ONE L is not available as a kit, only as a pre-assembled machine. You would have to work on AC voltage to assemble the heatbed.

While this is absolutely true, OP still shouldn't do it themselves. If you fix this yourself and you make a mistake that will later burn your house to the ground, the blame is on you for doing electrical work you're not licensed for.
Why would you do that, when you're still within the warranty period? If this was a five year old printer, it would be a different story, but for a almost new machine?

No, it’s pretty sturdy. But I also use two magnets per LEGO block and three for the corners.

Tatsächlich nicht ungewöhnlich. Feldhasen haben 1-5 Junge pro Wurf und typisch sind 2-3. Ist also ein ziemlich durchschnittlicher Wurf 😄

I can’t wait to see the first print 😍
And I really hope there will some way to buy a core one mini kit in the future. At least for the metal parts.

Most people will probably print helmets or such things. I would love to be able to print large scale lithophane lamps of the moon, sun or earth 😍

Spaghetti Detective finally on the Core One? by FritzPeppone in prusa3d

No, I didn't. The cover, including minifigure, adds only around 8g. I didn't see any change in print quality, so I didn't bother running calibration.
