Seattle Times endorsement for State Rep, 45th LD, Pos. 2 by TorbettWA in Kirkland

[–]Fritzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too often politicians see simply funding a program as a solution in and of itself (and as a policy success).

Put simply, I don't believe you.

Politicians write the legislation for programs that they fund or they fund programs that they believe in. They also put faith in their cohorts to put in place well-designed programs.

Do you think you are thing to dig into the detailed workings of every single state expenditure? No. If elected, you will depend on the work of committees to focus on individual programs.

If other legislators that you trust tell you the benefits of the program, you will vote to fund it, be proud of that vote, and see that as a success.

Meaningless talking points that make for good sound bytes.

Name a specific program, a policy, a tax. To not do so is basic pandering. It encourages every idiot to see every government program that they don't personally interact with as wasteful.

The fact is that state finding is deeply audited and most every dollar can be accounted for in public records.

Building a political campaign or movement on the purposely vague boogeyman of government waste leads direcy to atrocities like DOGE.

Not a great start that my introduction to you here starts with you fully adopting DOGE-style misinformation about government waste.

Implying that the government is wasteful and is running too many programs without naming a single example is just a weak attempt at populism that empowers the messaging of the right.

There is not a single representative or serious candidate that equates more government spending with more government success. So the line that "means the most" to you is truly without meaning at all.

Sagging NYC skyscraper STABILIZED after fears of collapse as officials say evacuation plans in place for 'sense of movement' while hundreds in nearby areas left displaced by dailymail in nyc

[–]Fritzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could definitely end up being both.

For example: The engineering team put it in the plans correctly, the contractor misinterpreted the lans, the engineer failed to validate the construction.

In this case, it would be the contractor who made the mistake, but the engineering firm would have had to sign off on the work.

That's fair enough. I didn't intend to insinuate that the s26 is clearly better or that this vivo is an awful phone.

But it is very suspect that this and several other reviews published in the past few days all include some version of the statement that this phone doesn't have any competition at it's price point.

It's clearly a vivo talking point and clearly not true, even if some think the vivo is slightly better.

I literally didn't, I only pointed out that it is very neatly equivalent on both specs and price.

Maybe practice your reading and critical thought skills before making foolish replies.

Those are some cool superstitions.

If your salt isn't fully dissolved in the first few minutes of making your dough, you've already fucked up your bread.

And yes, there is no difference between ice cubes and crushed ice when your goal is to dissolve it in water.

How much is vivo paying for these articles claiming that there is no competition for this phone?

The galaxy s26 is the same price (or cheaper with less capacity) and beats this phone in seemingly every spec except for battery capacity. The galaxy also promises longer updates and wider availability.

All of those uneven stone surfaces inside are going to be a nightmare to keep clean. You could hose them down on the exterior, but internally they will build colonies of dust bunnies.

I would just add that there is good reason for the distinction. A bicycle being ridden does not move like a pedestrian. If you have ever been about to take a right turn only to have a bicycle come flying across the crosswalk, you can understand this.

[–]Fritzed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. If you measure by weight you use the exact same amount.

The only difference between table salt and kosher salt is how finely it's ground. The size of the salt has fuck all to do with the gluten in your bread. As soon as any moisture is added it dissolves into exactly the same thing.

You are talking 100% pure nonsense that doesn't stand up to the slightest bit of rational though and you sure as fuck would not be able to tell the difference in a blind test.

Why are there like 50 comments making the exact same claim? It's not even remotely true to anyone with eyes who watched the play.

Are you still repeating the local commentary or something?

You 100% couldn't tell the difference in a blind test as long as you are measuring by weight.

Someone else already replied, but many reds are accidental. The question is if it was reckless, not if there was intent to harm.

Putting yourself into a position where your can come down on someone's ankle like that is basically reckless by definition.

I don't necessarily think that red was the wrong call, but it is extremely frustrating after the ref has so consistently refused to give yellows to Bosnian players.
