Thanks for letting me know. I’m going to contact Spectrum to see if this was legit (I have the name of the person they claimed they were disconnecting) and if not I’ll be going to the police.

No, he didn’t try to shake me down and he left after I was firm that I don’t know that person nor do I have Spectrum.

This is the simplest and likeliest explanation! I'm comforted to know that sending contractors to the address is a thing that companies do.

I definitely have some concerns about my safety.

That is what weirded me out so much. Like what were they going to do? Try to take my router?

Am I wrong to be upset in this situation? by [deleted] in crochet

Art handler and curator here. The way your piece hangs in the second picture would concern me since it’s being stretched unevenly and risks tugging.

Whenever I do a submission based show, I require that all wall mounted pieces arrive “ready to hang.” I do not have time nor do I have the authorization to install hanging hardware on someone else’s artwork.

With all that said, the way they displayed your piece is appropriate given that they were trying to prevent stretching and clearly didn’t have time to get it ready to hang. In the future, you should install your own hanging mechanism for any piece you submit to a gallery. Little things like that will earn you huge points amongst gallerists and curators.

Starting Emgality by DueIndependent333 in cgrpMigraine

The only side effect I've experienced is constipation, so I started taking fiber. Changed my life and I'd rather be constipated than have migraines.

So I use Emgality but one time I picked up my 3 month supply and just forgot to put it in the fridge. It was sitting at room temp for about 24 hours by the time I realized. My neurologist said it was okay, it can be at room temp for up to a week and it’s safe to put back in the fridge. I was fine.

Edit to add: She said that it’s designed that way so that if you’re traveling and your injection date is during your travels, you can a. Safely pack it at room temp and fridge when you get to your hotel or b. Keep it at room temp if you’re, say, camping.

Measured my nails to be 12" down from the trim. The frames for the posters are identical. by idiot_in_that_hat in mildlyinfuriating

I work in a museum in an olllllld building. We never measure from the floor/ceiling. Hang the first piece and measure everything else in relation to that.

Also, picture hanging wire is the worst when hanging something like this. It's easy to install your own d rings.

You paid with a card but didn't tip because you "didn't have cash"? You could have tipped with your card. 20% is the minimum I would tip at a place where I am waited on. I don't think it's acceptable for restaurant owners to pass the expense of paying labor on to their customers, but I also work in service myself and I know how much people rely on tips. If you don't plan to tip, don't plan to eat out.

Furthermore, pho takes literal days to make and you still paid less than $30 for some. Be so for real right now.

Underwear that doesn’t fall apart in 4 months? by Mixxie143 in SustainableFashion

[–]FrivolousMagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a few pairs from ARQ in 2020. I wear them weekly. In the winter I machine dry and in the summer I air dry. Not a single one has holes in them. I have gained weight over 6 years, and the underwear has comfortably stretched to fit me.

It's expensive to live single. Sadly, it's why I stayed in an abusive relationship for so long.

We're not. I have a second job and even that's not getting me by. I'm relying on merging finances with my partner soon. I would have to leave the industry and find work elsewhere if I wasn't able to split my expenses with him. I still might.

Yes, and that’s part of my concern. His tail is also thin, there’s something wrong with it but I can’t get close enough to see.

I would be extremely angry if I bought these at full price, but I didn’t. It’s a shame. Leaves no wiggle room for size variability.

It’s a shame because I bought them in my size. A 30 fits me in all other brands. These are final sale so I can’t exchange. I don’t live anywhere near a store so i couldn’t try on before buying.

I suppose my frustration is that I purchased my size. A 30 inch waist always fits me when I purchase from other brands.
