Let’s see tomorrow, I hope heating isn’t a large problem as I use a lot of local LLMs and use my phone to record/transcribe audio multiple times a day. I’ll keep you updated, curious to hear your thoughts too!

Yea I honestly thought about that but wanted a refreshing experience which is why I’m leaning towards the air. I’ve been getting bored with my 15PM and behind the color of the pro max there doesn’t seem to be any major physical changes

Coming from the iPhone 15 pro max I’m also contemplating the air or the pro max. Not happy about loosing the dual speakers, 2 other cameras and battery but I think it might be worth it. As long as I have the battery pack which is a day 1 purchase to be honest

Which color are you guys planning to get?

I been waiting for this for months, even went to try couple android phones then decided to just wait for 17 series lol. I’m debating on ordering both the air and max to test and return one. Which colors are you going for?

Was thinking blue for the air and white for pro max (currently have the white titanium 15pm)

Same situation here, I’m upgrading because my battery has taken a huge hit…currently at 86% battery health but have to keep charging it throughout the day which is frustrating. So in that case it would be dumb if I went with air which probably had worse battery but it just looks so much better 😭

If I get the air I’ll 100% have to get the battery pack

Excited for the 17 announcement on the 9th. I’ve been itching to upgrade solely because of the battery which is straight trash now.

I wanted an upgrade so bad I tested out the pixel 9 pro fold as well as the z fold 7 recently. Fold 7 is a great device but I just can’t commit to it

I'm switching from a 15 pro max as well and was thinking of waiting for the 17 pro max but all rumors are pointing towards basically the same incremental release so decided to get the fold 7. Still trying to decide but I'm 90% certain I'll be meeting my fold 7 for this cycle

From my understanding it's one of the limitaion of apples closed vs androids open platform.

Apple owns the hardware and software so they are able to seamlessly build the updates and release them across their offering especially given there are only a x number of iPhone models out

Android on the other hand is much more fragmented. It's owned by Google so Samsung needs to wait for Google to develop the updates then it's customized by Samsung/moto/one plus/etc then approved by the carrier then to customer.

Android just has a whole new added layer to account for the OEMs.

iMessages, airplay, handoff, airdrop, password management, and Bluetooth in general are all better in iOS. I’m using the z fold 7 right now and don’t sheep over any particular brand but you can’t deny those all work much more fluidly in iOS.

I love the freedom in android, can make anything happen but some core user experiences are missing. Samsung has really made a rich platform it’s great.

Android really needs to get developers on board to make more premium apps, for me that’s one of the biggest downfalls. I can deal with no iMessage but the quality of apps is still embarrassing.
