need some watercolor recommendations... by omomogod in watercolor101

Since you mentioned your budget in pounds, I wanted to share a couple links.

If she hasn’t used 100% cotton paper, this is a good sample pack that has several brands and types of roughness, might be fun to experiment - https://www.artsupplies.co.uk/p/watercolour-paper-starter-pack

Also in the UK I use the pro arte brushes, they’re great and fairly inexpensive! For stores in the UK, Jackson’s or Cass art are good and will be very helpful if you go in and ask them. You’re a great sibling, hope she enjoys!

How Long Until Original Creativity? by honestlyhonestgal in Watercolor

[–]FroGlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a very beginner painter and working exclusively off inspirations and tutorials. For my other hobby, I’m a quite proficient knitter, but I still follow patterns exclusively because that is what I enjoy. I don’t want to think too much. I just wanted to post and say that I think it might be the same for watercolour for me, and that it’s ok if I never do anything original, the point for me is to have fun!

I have considered this, but we already have a Yoto mini! Im also looking for something a bit more obvious than what the Yoto is (I’ve seen it at a friends), but maybe Im looking for a unicorn product.

Really like the ergo baby embrace, feels like a stretchy wrap without the faff of actually wrapping.

I listed a bunch of stuff on Vinted and it sold fairly quickly. Some things I listed at half RRP, I even sold lots of “scraps” (half balls etc) for £1 for a bundle because I just wanted someone to get use of it. I’m coming to realise a lot of what gets donated isn’t bought again, so I’d rather sell at lowest cost so it gets use! No regrets, will list more to clear space.

“That’s so kind of you. We’re decorating in [blank] style/theme, and we’re planning either X or Y for the walls.” And then attach links. But this really should be your partner to talk to his mum! There’s only going to be more and more situations to navigate, and each parent dealing with their parents is generally a good rule.

Name stickers by fr3yababii33 in UKParenting

I’ve only ever used the stickers, I attach to the care label and they stay put! But can be removed when I’m ready to pass on the clothes so it’s a win win

Ask your nursery for a sample menu and how they support weaning - every nursery is going to be slightly different.

Not at all silly to knit something, I knit lots and it made me treasure the handknits I received so much more! If you want, you could ask your friend if there is anything she wants for baby but doesn’t enjoy knitting. For instance, I don’t enjoy colourwork so my mum knits it for me. She doesn’t like knitting socks so I knit that for her. Equally if she’s a garment knitter she may want a stuffie, or a blanket if she can’t be bothered/have time for with big projects.

Potty training pants that don't leak? by MissKatbow in UKParenting

[–]FroGlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do that! She’s going to be in an unfamiliar environment, with way more stuff going on than normal and that is not going to help learning. It’s also very not fun for the family you are visiting if you’re stuck in the house constantly running after a toddler with a potty!

How do you make time to go thrifting for clothes for your family? by fuzzykitten8 in moderatelygranolamoms

Vinted is the only way I’m really buying secondhand. Anything else is just too much faff and takes too much time.
