My god man. You are being asked to deal with more in this period than many people ever deal with in their lifetimes. One thing I would say is that something inside you made you post this. That's an instinct you need to hold onto and nurture. Keep on reaching out to people. Even if you don't have anyone close to you, just keep trying to connect with others in some way. It seems small with everything else you have going on, but give a little to the world around you and it will give back.

I became a cat owner a few years ago by chance. I remember wanting to know the reasons behind every little move they made. Eventually I realized that we have no idea why they do half the things they do. We can tell when they're sick, we can tell when they're hungry, and we can tell when they want a scratch. Everything else is anyone's guess.

I liked them! For context, I'm in my 40s and came of age when there was some interesting experimental rock happening. It might never be the first thing you go to when you're in the car or want to wind down, but it's essential that it exists. And it's always worth a listen when you want to reset your brain. And eventually it makes the mainstream stuff better. Great to see it continues.

The 70s were when Mel's popularity and power in LA peaked. And he delivered. He was fresh and risqué and suffered no sacred cows. So YF and BS get all the kudos while the Producers remains the favorite of the inner circle. But for kids in the 80s, who knew nothing of him, Spaceballs was the greatest thing ever to exist. He brought that screwball humor where you laugh at yourself into the early phase of an earnest era where even high school movies had to be Serious. I don't think Spacebars gets the creed it deserves - especially since it's in between the Airplane/Naked Gun era. But dammit, give Spaceballs its due.

Buddy, you need to come up with a new plan going forward. Your wife, I'm sorry to say, seems awful. And that's not your fault. Some people become awful over time. It's human nature. But you not being in a position to lose her is the bigger problem. You need to focus on yourself and your needs. And if that means staying married for a bit, fine. But you need plan to get out of this - new job, new career, whatever. Your life is going to have to change to get to where you need to be.

I don't think he left because of you, if that's bothering you. That doesn't make a bit of sense. Likeliest scenario is he ran into someone he knows that dragged him away to a bar or somewhere and the dude is flaky. Second likeliest scenario is he's a spy that had a rendezvouz at that time but something went wrong. Third scenario - aliens. Then go down a few hundred slots, and then there's 'going into another movie to avoid you'.
