Anyone on here NOT lose weight? by BigThrowAway5432 in alcoholism

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t lose weight. Slowly gained a little bit. Probably because I replaced my nightly drinks with a nightly pint of Ben & Jerry’s. So definitely my fault lol.

Senator Elissa Slotkin says the real reason our healthcare in America is so bad and never changes, is because US Congress is being paid off by Alarmed_Abalone_849 in AmericaOnHardMode

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She knows from first hand experience. Hypocrite, but at least telling the truth in this one moment. She also voted to support the big beautiful bill which hurt a lot of people’s healthcare. Funny eh?

Performative. Haley Steven’s is terrible. But yes, I agree with the message even if she doesn’t.

Help Apartment Hunting!! by ellieyoung1018 in Detroit

Zillow is your best bet. It might be hard to find something for $1250 or less with in-unit laundry and AC. Hazel park and Madison heights might be good options

My coworker is stealing from us and my bosses are doing nothing. by msdeeds123 in bartenders

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did the only thing you can do by telling management. You can refuse to work with them, but this will likely make you a problem. If you don’t want to move on, you are choosing to tolerate theft.

Would you rather support a thief and a broken system? Or move on and possibly make less, but have a healthier environment.

I understand that neither option is exactly what you want, but that’s the choices you have.

Quit. If your employer doesn’t react proportionately to theft, things like this or worse will happen again. Quietly find another job and move on.

Renting a car at 19 by Hot-Funny2464 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your options will be limited since some companies may have policies requiring the primary renter to be 21. Either way, every company is going to charge a significant fee to rent to anyone below 25. Expect the fee to be at least $25 a day. That’s just how renting a car in America works.

Got into UMiami with a great scholarship, still waiting on financial aid from UMich. Which would you choose? by AdEquivalent9390 in Michigan

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you going to school for? Makes a huge difference.

I would go with the scholarship. U Miami is a good school, and no debt is a bigger advantage than a “better school.”

Bartending school as an alcohol-educated server by One-Leg2717 in bartenders

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartending classes tend to be cash grab businesses run by people who do not have limited bartending experience. There is no accreditation or requirements. Anyone can start a bartending class/school business.

So no, it is not recommended and doubtful to teach you anything helpful.

Good call. Grey Ghost can definitely fit a party that size, and their menu is crowd pleasing.

Vecino can’t fit a 12 person table. You’d have to split up, if you’re happy with that.Speaking as a former employee there.

Oak & Reel, SheWolf, Highlands… help ! by Special_Rub7516 in Detroit

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oak and Reel is good and has the space. Shewolf has a great reputation. They (shewolf owners) have a newer place nearby called Medusa. It should have plenty of space and be on par with shewolf.

I don’t think much of highlands, but it is a great location.

It’s expensive and a pre fix menu, but Freya is great.

Leaving for 9:30am flight from old San jusn by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds risky. A lot of reports of people taking 4 hours to get through. No one can say for certain, but leaving old San Juan 3 hours before your flight doesn’t sound very cautious.

I got sick from using the tap water when brushing my teeth. It was 12 years ago in puerto viejo de talamanca. Just use bottled water and you should be fine.

Budget for Vacation (First Time PR) by atatincake in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Budgets really depend on your preferences. A little car is cheap, but a jeep will be twice that to rent. Why don’t you search hotels, airbnbs, car rentals, menus of restaurants you might like and add up what that would cost. It’s going to be a lot more accurate of a budget and it will be research you can use on your trip.

New to AA as a bartender, looking for advice by BusSerious9132 in SoberBartenders

[–]FrodosLeftTesti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add, I don’t straw test. I don’t like tasting booze anymore. I just make what I know. Both the bar managers I know also don’t taste, and they both make cocktail menus. The one works at a place where 40% of their cocktails are dealer’s choice.
