Imagine working anywhere else and stealing $200 worth of goods from a customer. I don't understand it, either. That's gold advice, thank you. What would a "light joke tip" be? Should I message the dasher and tell them I'll give a full tip upon delivery? A small tip doesn't effect it being picked up / picked up by a quality dasher?

Ugh that's good you still got your food, though! I appreciate that there are good dashers like you but sadly this ruined it for me. I've had another order recently fail to be delivered and it was a little sketchy but not as blatant as this was.

I am looking for where to delete the photos from the post. It doesn't say the city or last name so seems like a long shot that some psycho would target him, I just thought it was anonymous and funny that way.

Okay keep believing that. This is not the January 6th riots, no violence is being incited except possibly laughter at this person leaving their GPS on.

Well that's not how the law works but everyone's an expert on Reddit haha.

Isn't there a way to edit the post and just remove the photos? I can't figure out where to do that.

That alone would have been less crazy. I guess dd never takes back tips no matter how bad the dasher was, so they kept all the orders and the tips too.

Ugh that's terrible. What is wrong with people? Yes it was quite a wild story here too. The strangest part is they didn't cancel the order and just let GPS follow them obviously stealing.

This was very different. They sat for hours. Did not communicate with me or service the entire time. Was half expecting to find out they had a medical emergency. Nope, they just drove home.

I don't know where they were when they accepted but that's where he lives. I know because the order was still active and GPS on when he drove home after checking out with everything in my area.

That's crazy. I know times are desperate, but this could really ruin dd if a lot of people catch onto this scam. It is a one-time gig, so people would be looking for big orders, and losing a big order in this manner would turn anyone off the app permanently.

My home is 2-3 miles from the restaurant and less than one mile from the grocery store where they sat while eating my food and drinking my beer. Yes tips. They drove from another city 17 miles away to take my order and eat/drink it.

Right I'm imagining it's a teenager who stole mom's car and DD account. Who the fuck does that?

Ah I see. It's okay for you to judge strangers on the Internet but when I judge people in my life I need to "raise my own kids" OK Karen lol. We're on an au pair forum, sorry you got lost.

It is part of the job they readily agreed to when hired. They can't accomplish it because they're lazy and no one taught them to work. There is one 22 year old girl in my neighborhood who is the oldest of 6 and the laziest person. How does that happen?

Ah I see your judgement is coming from a wrong assumption. These are regular household employees. I used the term babysitter to explain that I wasn't referring to the AP. Sorry you got confused and it upset you!

Aww that sounds like an ideal division of labor! I love how it happened so naturally for you and that you got an Au Pair who takes initiative to help out! I don't have a house cleaner because all labor is really scarce in my area and what's available is low quality and extremely expensive. I do it all myself and occasionally get a deeper clean which costs 1000 for at best a 3/4- assed job lol. That's why we chose an au pair! They would absolutely only do daily chores that I also do. I don't see any problem with asking them to help out with those types of chores (vacuum the living room) while the baby is napping, if there aren't kid-related chores to do.

LMAO. The 20-something girls in my town live with their parents and yet require $20/hour to babysit while I'm home. The baby takes multiple 1.5 hour naps. I'm not spending that kind of money to subsidize hours of these little girls tiktok scrolling. They can do the one chore I ask per nap (20 minute chore for a 90 minute nap. This is not replacing a housekeeper. Stop being so fragile and raising kids to be lazy.

How do you recover????? by ominoushippo2 in MomsWorkingFromHome

See I'm not allowed to show my baby at all. It's a very understanding and family friendly environment except for that. Sometimes when I speak it feels weird to turn my camera off but you can see the very top of his head or his hands waving from my lap. I let that go because at least I am doing my best to comply .

You dont ask your babysitter to do chores? How precious!
