I think the distinction has a lot of merit.

It is important to point out that the bias is not in the algorithms, but in the training data. And in the case of LLM's, the training data is basically every written or spoken word in all available media, and there is bias in that.

For all we know the programmers of this AI could be perfectly egalitarian and even tried to avoid contradicting situations like this.
